So our LO, in his infinite creativity, named his elf "Chippy." I had planned to post a picture of each his "landing" spots with DS1's reaction, but with phone troubles that didn't happen. I have a number of them and I'll post them in a bit. Some of DS's comments are hilarious, some indifferent, and some are ungrateful (little jerk...lol). So far I've remembered to move him every night, even on vacation. That wasn't the case last year.
Anyone else moving that little bugger around this year?
"Chippy is on my flying pig!" He was ecstatic with this one. The pig is a blue whirligig his grandpa made him. Grandpa asked him what type of whirligig he wanted and at first DS wanted a dragon, but then decided against a dragon because "dragons doesn't like spicy salsa." I didn't quite get the logic, but then again little man is four so there is that.
"He's on my tree!" Another winner... We have two trees. One that is decorated in thirds. Top third has all our breakable ornaments that DW and I have accumulated over the years, next third down has shatter resistant bulbs, and the bottom third has nothing. DS2 has mastered removing all of the bulbs on the bottom though and throws them around.
DS's tree was a request because his mom is "matchy matchy" when it comes to decorating. He didn't get to help with "her", I mean the family tree. So we took him to get his own little tree. After being pissed his tree wasn't a full size tree he loved decorating it. He's pretty proud.
He's a fan of building ginger bread houses so we'll see his reaction in the morning. I love when he gets all excited.
Chippy first landed on our tree. That was night 1 so he was pretty stoked that he arrived. After vacation Chippy returned to the tree, right next to the ornament LO picked out on vacation and helped me hang. I thought he would be thrilled Chippy noticed the new addition. Instead, a very unimpressed "Dad, he's on the tree again." I probably out way too much thought in to it.
Chippy could use a good cup of java after all the flying he has done. DS was speechless this morning. Just pointed with his mouth wide open and his eyes as big as could be.
He is already working on his thank you card for Santa and asks daily if we are sure we have everything to make the big guy cookies. He also needs a carrot for the reindeer. He's really in top of Christmas this year.
Unimpressed this morning...Chippy is back where he was last year. (He used "last year to mean any point in time that has already occurred...a week, a day, two seconds ago)
