Just got the call. It's lymphoma. Curable, but we don't know what her chances are yet. She'll be having her bone marrow tested and will be undergoing chemo.
Anything you can spare in terms of thoughts, prayers, love to the universe -- whatever you believe in -- would be so immensely appreciated. I feel unmoored.

I'm so sorry subliminalrabbit. I hope you all get more answers soon and she can start on the road to recovery. I'm sending my thoughts and prayers to you all. Big hugs.

Thank you so much, everyone. We still have a ton of questions (some of which a few of you have asked), and no real answers yet. My mom will see an oncologist early in the week and thankfully Dartmouth has set up a chemo center in the town next to where she lives, so she'll be able to get treatment without traveling far. (Dartmouth also sends oncologists up to her hospital, so I know she will be in good hands.)
Your success stories help me feel a bit better. I'm thankful it's a treatable form. And we'll take it as it comes.
And now I'm going to go and nap. I didn't sleep much last night and I'm just thrashed.
So sorry, Rabbit. My own brother is a lymphoma survivor also, diagnosed at age 26 just a week before his wedding! But now he's in remission and kicking ass. His was a hybrid form of Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins that they called Gray Zone Lymphoma.
I was a lurker on a lymphoma message board during his year of chemo...let me see if I can find the link...
