I was doing hotel reservations elsewhere and heard that this casino was a good company to work for. I took a second job there as a banquet server to get my foot in the door. A friend in banquets saw a sign for in house BJ classes so she, my brother, and I all signed up and now all deal BJ. Wish I had known about it when I was 21!
Probably going to Disney and universal studios in Florida with my HS marching band and all my friends for NYE 1999! Spent midnight in the parks and my dad made me call right after to confirm that y2k didn't make anything bad happen.
Everyone says DH, but I don't see it. Probably because I haven't seen many pics of him as a baby. But I also don't think he looks like me. He seems to have my personality, though. I feel sorry for me later dealing with that!
Right now, part of the hymn from church on sunday. After birth, it was "Shake if Off" for a couple weeks because DH played it while I was in labor! Otherwise it changes every few days.
What about your life do you hope will be the same/ different in 10 years?
Same: that everyone in the family is getting along without much drama.
Different: another kid or two and a different job that has better benefits and let's me not work nights of holidays! And maybe a different house with neighbors farther apart.
What is the best road trip that you've ever taken?
July 2012 we were supposed to go to Colorado Springs, but because of the wildfires we had to change plans. We decided to go from here (OK) north to SD to visit my aunt for a few days. We got private plane rides in her coworkers 2 seater plane. Flew over her property, the lake, and just the countryside for like 30 minutes each. Almost got to ride her horses, but she got bucked off and ended up in the hospital (she's fine).
After that, the wildfires had backed off in CO so we headed on. But first, we went west to Rapid City and saw Mt Rushmore. Also, DH'S friend happened to be driving from MO to MT and heading through Rapid City, too, so I finally got to meet him! It was so random!
After a night there, we continued to Co Springs and stayed there a few nights to hike and visit with BIL, SIL, and nieces.
Then we went south to NM on our way hope and visited Capulin volcano. We *almost* went through Amarillo instead of the panhandle just so we could make it 7 (?) States in 7 days, but storms were coming so we just went straight home.
What is your favorite creative project that you've done?
Probably the flower girl dress I made for my niece to wear in my brothers wedding. She was so cute! SIL unknowingly selected the most complicated pattern available out of the ones we looked at, but it was worth it!
I haven't had one... I'm not a big drinker so it just really hasn't crossed my mind. Maybe I should pick up some angry orcard, does that help with milk supply?
What has been the hardest part of being a mom so far?
Letting DH do his own thing with DS. My way can't be the ONLY way, so I just have to let him figure out some things for himself, too, even if it means some crying (by me and DS). DH has never babysat at all or even been around babies that much. Even with 5 nieces he's maybe held a baby a handful of times.
