Hey guys - I am looking at getting DS a new car seat so I can move DD into his old seat since she is close to outgrowing her infant carrier. Is it ok for them to be in car seats like this one now (I would use the harness as long as possible). It looks for grown up to me, lol.
Does anyone have suggestions of ones that they like? I currently have a diono and love it. I may look for a cheaper one that is similar for DC's car. Thanks!
Yep. There are a few j12s who have moved to high back boosters with the harness. We will probably be moving to that same seat when we make the switch as well. We like Britax.
We switched Hanna to the Graco Nautilus when Eliza was close to moving out of her infant seat for the same reason. I like it and it should be the last seat we have to buy. It's the same concept as the link you posted, but I got a discount on it at Target so that's why I went with it. It is a great seat, the only complaint I have is the top buckle can sometimes be tricky to unlatch.
These types of seats are only for FF, so if you are still RF this won't be a seat for you.
Definitely ok for a J12-er as long as you're ready to FF. Since we're at 3.5 now, it's ok to do so if you're not yet, it's just personal preference at this point.
It was a little weird making that change to a "big kid" carseat for us! ("big kid" being only a FF, not a convertible... and also changing to FF in general!)

We just bought a graco nautilus for my MIL's car. It gets good reviews on a couple of carseat blogs I read. So far I like it, the installation was easy and Liam seems comfortable. Mostly he's just excited that he can finally ride in his Grammy's car!
In H's case we have a Graco Nautilus too. Joey likes it, loved it at first.
Side note: whengiven the choice of my car or H's she chooses mine and says she likes my car seat better (Diono Radian). But she never complains about H's.... Or the ones in my mind car and FIL's car (both cheaper seats)
