On Thursday morning we had a weekly NST scheduled and our second growth u/s because LO's abdomen was measuring behind. We were told that LO only gained 2oz since our last growth u/s 3 weeks ago, and the Dr wanted to meet with us later that afternoon to discuss a plan. When H & I met with the Dr, we were told LO's abdomen was 6 weeks behind and the placenta was failing. He sent us to L&D immediately so they could induce labor in hopes of delivering LO on Friday.
Once we got to L&D they started planning for the induction until they took my vitals. They determined I had severe pre-e (without any previous symptoms) and my bp was unbelievably high. LO's heart rate was consistently dipping and they felt she needed to be delivered ASAP. In a whirlwind they got everyone together and rushed me in for a c-section.
Our baby girl, Lilith Audrey, was born at 6:39pm Thursday 1/29. She was 35w, weighed 3lbs 14oz, and was 17.25 inches long. H got to hold her next to my head for a few moments while I was being stitched up.
They took Lilith to NICU and I was sent back to L&D to recover. Lilith wasn't able to leave NICU because she had an IV and I wasn't able to leave my room because I was being monitored for my bp. They allowed me to pump and H would bring the colostrum to NICU so they could feed her that mixed with formula.
I FINALLY got to see and hold my little girl today! I'm so amazed and in love with her.
