DH took LO to costco this morning so I'm enjoying the silence that is so very rare. If he knows what's good for him, he'll bring donuts back with him. (He should know, I texted him to come home with donuts.)
FFSC: I didn't think I'd be bummed about not having a party for LO, but I am. I know he won't remember it, but I really wish our families could be here for something so special. Sad trombone.

Did tLex post pics and then poof them? I'm feeling confused.
And I'd like to give big hugs to bookshelves. It was so sweet to read your words about your little girl. I always suspected you were the grown up of our group, but you just proved it, by using the word luncheon.

I'm sorry you feel like you're missing out on having a family party. It was one of the reasons I flew home to my parents house.
But there is no law that says you can't have a little party anyway. The fun is in you (GG reference). Personally, I vote buy a cute outfit, some balloons, and spend too long making a cake that LO won't appreciate

I've spent a great deal of time trying to figure out why everyone was talking about the Super Bowl like it was an evening event. Did they change the time? When did this happen? I swear I remember watching bf watching it all fday last year. I am so confused!

OK, last one, and then I'm getting out of bed (I'm trying to get to 100 today). I am uncomfortable with proboards showing the number of posts and love tits a person has. It seems so braggy, or so shaming. I feel so embarrassed to only have 83 posts, compared to other peoples eleventy
Happy birthday baby bookshelves and lalaprep! That was a beautiful story books. Plus we must've gotten wires crossed, we thought LO would be a girl- my family was SO convinced, that when they told me he was a boy I actually laughed.
tLex Have a fun party! I'm on your side about 2 big good quality pizzas, if your internet friends have any pull with your H.
Church with LO is killing me lately. We go to first service since he naps after, and there's no nursery. I end up taking him to the chapel in the back that gets used as a cry room to let him run around, but it's so isolating. Plus today pastor forgot to turn on his mic so I couldn't even hear the sermon. And Sundays are so long, we only have 1 car and live 40 min away now, so we have to stay for both services and whatever else DH needs to be there for, so we're gone 6:30-1. I cannot WAIT for LO to go to 1 nap so I can go to second service and put him in the nursery. At this point I feel like going at all is a waste of time and I hate that.
bookshelves I'm so glad you shared that. E is an incredible little girl and she has an amazing mom to guide her as she grows up. I hope you, Mr. Books and Booklet have a magical snowy birthday.

I felt that way with DD for a long time. We were breast feeding and she would take forever to eat. Nearly every week we would spend almost the whole service in the nursery while she ate. There is a speaker in there, but there were usually a bunch of kids too so it was usually not on since it just added to the noise.

Is there anyone who lives in your direction that could maybe give you or YH a lift once in a while? Only have one car can be tricky sometimes.
And since you're an adult, I'm guessing faking a cold and skipping church isn't an option? (Not that I'd ever do that? ) What is open on a Sunday at that time of day? I was going to suggest a mall with a play place, but probably not open. Could you take him to McDonald's, to play in their playplace while you enjoy coffee and hashbrowns, and then take him all tuckered out to second service?
Heading off to Target, and getting lunch. Turquoise balloons you will be mine. This is my last attempt to match these balloons to the streamers. Next stop will be Party City (in the same shopping center). Not sure what we will bet getting for lunch... there's too many choices over in that area... I voted Potbelly, DH didn't seem enthusiastic about that idea... other choices include...
Five Guys, Fox & Hound Grill, Moes, Qdoba, Chipolte, Panera, Chilis, Dewey's Pizza, BWW, Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, the list goes on and on!!!! #fwp

Woohoo I finally figured out my notifications! armfruit I'm so glad Issac loves his dump truck! I think I'll be a good wife and let DH go to a Super bowl party while I stay home with DS.

MissDemeanor We live way further away than everyone. No need to fake, I'm sure no one would blame me for staying home, it's just frustrating for me, because participating in a worship service is important to me, and I basically don't get that now. And right now after first service I drive around til he falls asleep. After that we go to a play place or museum. I tried swapping him and tiring him out first but he ended up a tired cranky mess and wouldn't nap at all. There is a chance we have 1 family switching to early service, and our new vicar has a toddler, so I'm hoping we can get a nursery for that service with more interest. It's not a long term problem, anyway, I just get frustrated every Sunday.

Sorry you're so frustrated. It won't be long until he drops that second nap, unfortunately. My LO drops it about every other day right now.

I'm pretty damn impressed that you have a husband who's willing to go balloon shopping with you. It seems most guys don't care if the balloons match the streamers. Crazy, I know, but true

bluedot, I know exactly where you are shopping! You are SO close to me! I vote Which Wich so you can get a giant Oreo shake. Those were my absolute favorite when I was pregnant with DD.
Lo is a fussy mess today...nothing makes her happy. So she is up in her crib...maybe she needs a nap? I've tried to nurse her but she latches and then starts freaking out again. If anything maybe some alone time will give us both sine patience and tolerance....
(((Hugs))) tessymessy Hi MissDemeanor! carissalynp our church doesn't have a nursery and some mornings it's so hard to get through the service. And E often falls asleep on the way there, and so we have to wake him up to go in. #sucks bluedot good luck with your balloon endeavor!
Happy late morning everyone. We are not super bowl people around here, but I will be checking out commercials online later. I don't eveer know who's playing, but I hear one of them likes to deflate balls? Deflate gate has gotten more discussion than state testing lately at the teachers lunch table.
jackiep1023. I know the nostalgia this time of year can be overwhelming. I keep wishing I could go back in time and thank my mom on each of my birthdays. Like, LOs birthday will always mean revisiting those memories for me, and I'd guess that was what it was like for my mom too. I feel bad that all I can't really remember if I went out of my way to thank her on any of my birthdays.
tLex. Thanks for the reassurance and the suggestion on the install. I'll have to look into that Facebook group. I'm also kinda dreading being a bit pushy about how the other seat gets installed into his sitters car. I'm worried she won't want to leave it in place all the time since they don't often go places. My daycare situation frustrates the hell out of me.
That seems crazy that you can use the same seat and that it costs so much more in Canada. I wonder what the rationale is there.
Happy birthday baby bookshelves and @lalalprep. Baby books little birth story made me tear up. There just no other moment like the birth of a baby I guess.
