Good morning! Good luck taberbtb, can't wait for an update :-)
I've been super busy this week with work, so not much new to report...but we had a wonderful u/s Friday showing a 9w1d little professor with a hb of 169! And I went to the appointment BY MYSELF
The good: We are at my parents' cabin about to head out for a hike! The bad: This will be my first real exercise in...a while. The proud: Not health-related, but I finished a major work project this past week. The plan: I've been thinking more and more about an abdominal muscle plan that's realistic for someone who's 1. pregnant and 2. battling diastasis recti (or whatever it's called). I'd like so stay on top of my core strength this time around. I welcome any ideas or links to ideas!

The good: I worked out five days this week - walks, elliptical and one Zumba class.
The bad: I am feeling so easily winded - barely survived Zumba and even walking is getting harder. Also - heartburn is making me so miserable and keeping me up at night. Mylanta worked once and then didn't anymore.
The proud: I dunno. Feeling a little defeated by my deteriorating fitness, and the heartburn. But...we signed up for our favorite five-mile run on Memorial Day weekend. It's about a month after my due date, so kind of ambitious but I can always walk if if I'm not ready to slowly jog it.
The plan: I'm taking a page out of ProfessorChaos's book and going to try to overhaul my diet to see if eating very plain foods help. Going to try to keep a log of what works and doesn't work.
QOTW: I'm such a grump about the Super Bowl. I don't care about it. My DH has to go away for work this week and he is leaving this afternoon, so I won't even watch it.

ProfEDD - Another professor--welcome! No help here with the diastasis recti--that's a question for the doc.
alleycat39 - Sorry about the GTT. Lots of women seem to fail the 1 hr but pass the three hr. Hope you're one of them!
downtheshore - Good luck on managing the heartburn. I gave up trying to do it with diet and other behavioral changes and started taking Zantac. I still have to be really careful--I forgot my second dose yesterday and suffered for it a LOT--but it's helped so much that I feel ready to jump back in on this check-in! But I hear you about the lack of fitness. This third trimester has really caused shit to get real, as the kids say.
The Good: My weight is picture perfect, partly because The Battle of the Heartburn caused me to lose some pounds. I'm exactly on track for the 25 lb minimum weight gain. Since I was over for a while, this seems good. (Note to alleycat39 - weight gain is not linear during pregnancy!) Other good is that the heartburn is finally manageable enough that I'm getting back into my exercise practices and more eating.
The Bad: I think I lost some ground fitness-wise during The Battle. I'm going to yoga again for the first time (downward dog with reflux is BAD) this morning, so we'll see how it goes.
The Proud: See above. I guess it's not much.
The Plan: I've started a new thing: daily shorter doses of exercise, instead of three big workouts per week. Now I'm going to aim for at least 20-30 minutes brisk walking, light weights, walking uphill on the treadmill, or similar every day, and two longer (60+ min) workouts a week. Continue eating healthfully, although I've been treating myself somewhat since The Battle was so restrictive about foods, and I just passed my GTT.
QOTW: do you watch the Super Bowl? Any fun plans for the game? Watching it with friends. I hate the dirty, cheating Pats so much, even though I'm not really a football fan these days. I just really, really want to see them lose, and for Brady to get sacked repeatedly. That's my favorite. I'm going to bring my laptop so I can do some data cleaning during the game. Go Hawks!!
downtheshore great job working out 5 days this week!
alleycat39 hope you pass! My body also loves carbs and it's hard not to eat them all!
ProfessorChaos I like your plan of shorter doses of exercising.
The good: Not over eating. The bad: I honestly can't remember if I walked the dogs this week. Maybe on Sunday. Possibly on Monday. Oh pregnancy brain. I had social engagements Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. I did play TopGolf on Friday so my arms got a tiny workout in. Hitting golf balls isn't easy!
The proud: Stocking up on tons of healthy food yesterday at the store. Eating healthy makes me feel good.
The plan: Walk the dogs at least 3 times this week. Maybe do some arm workouts. I feel like I need to get my upper body strength up in preparation of carrying a baby in my arms.
QOTW: We go to my FIL's to watch the Super Bowl. I will be rooting for the Seahawks. I am in advertising so I also watch all the commercials.

The good: lots of fluids and ice. The bad: snickers are yummy The proud: started using my ball to do some stretches and small exercises The plan: take it easy... Pass kidney stone..
Qotw: not a lot planned just making queso and watching the game. If we were back home (Texas) i imagine we would be going to a party cuz it is a big deal there. But not as much here.

ProfEDD, so glad that you had a good ultrasound this week. Enjoy your hike! Is it nice weather where you live? I miss my long walks lately as the weather has been cold, snowy and generally miserable in the northeast. Today was actually decent so I got in a few miles with my dog but we are walking in the street to avoid slipping on frozen-over sidewalks.
alleycat39, my exercise minute count was down this month, too. I got in long workouts when I was off over holiday break, but between work, bad weather, and feeling less physically able, it's not surprising I worked out less in January. The thing to remember is you still worked out a lot, and the GD thing is not your fault. I hope you find out tomorrow that you passed!
ProfessorChaos, first off, I share your loathing for Tom Brady and the Patriots! As a NJ girl who went to college in Boston, I developed strong anti-Red Sox and anti-Patriots feelings. I'm glad the Zantac is working for you. That'll be my next step if limiting my diet doesn't help. Hope you feel a lot better this week and can enjoy your yoga! I think your plan of scaling back workout length is a good one. I am going to do the same.
mrskblack11, sounds like you have what you need to eat healthy this week. Good idea on the lifting. I need to start using my hand weights, especially as I cut back on cardio. Have fun watching the game and the commercials.
backstreetpixie, I hope resting and lots of fluids helps you pass those stones. I feel badly that you are feeling so miserable.
