I'm so nervous there is no more heartbeat & I'm doing it to verify it's still ok. But I'm going to be a mess if I can't find it bc then I'll worry that I lost the baby. Has anyone else used one this early and have any tips? I'm 9w6d today. I've been googling YouTube videos.

In pretty sure they're not reliable at picking up the hb for another few weeks, at around 12w. So don't freak if you can't hear it yet!
Also, it can take even longer if you have anterior placenta (dunno if you know) because baby will be hiding behind even more biological material.
I agree w/ PPs to maybe try it in a few weeks. I know there's a thread floating around in the CAR archives somewhere re: dopplers. I'm considering on getting one myself to pacify my PgAL brain. Definitely let us know how you like it when you start using it, katelm!
ETA: How exciting that you'll be hitting double digits in 4 days a few hours!!! (Pregnancy brain sucks!)
I couldn't find it until 14 weeks with DD1 (anterior placenta) so definitely don't freak out! I found mine the other day and tried again today and couldn't find it. It's too early to consistently and easily find it.
I found DD's at 10 weeks but had a posterior placenta so I agree with PP to say that you may not find it for a couple weeks so don't freak out if you don't find it. I also searched for 30 mins to finally find it.

At 9w6d, wouldn't she be in double digits tomorrow?

Just echoing pps. Last time, I couldn't find it consistently till much later (although I'm overweight to begin with and had anterior placenta). I did try mine this time around (because impatient) and no luck so far.
Well now that is here of course I can't resist giving it a try. I tried for a long time and can't find it. I hear a lot of my own heartbeat though. I watched several YouTube videos and was doing it pretty low like basically on the pubic hairline. I hope it's just too early. Thanks all for letting me know that it's probably too early so I don't freak out. Hopefully I didn't cause any damage to the embryo for using it for so long
ETA: apparently a tilted uterus (which I'm pretty sure I've been told I have) can make it harder to get a reading on the Doppler.
I'm not panicking but feeling a little sad that I couldn't be reassured.

It's really hard to find it this early and if you have a tilted uterus it's no surprise. I wouldn't panic yet.
I had to have the wand about half way between my belly button and pubic bone. I was surprised that I needed it that high.
I think the first time was 11 weeks when I found the heartbeat. The second time I only found the heartbeat for maybe 2-3 seconds but could find mine almost everywhere!
