Hi everyone- I'm excited to join you guys after my second stint over at CAL. As much as I love and appreciate those wonderful ladies, I'm really hoping to stick around here. Thank you, thank you to the fantastic CAL ladies- I'm not sure how I would have gotten through my losses without you. I am forever grateful
We have a couple of preventative measures in place (baby aspirin, extra folic acid and I'll start using a pessary shortly due to a partial prolapsed ute that started around 12 weeks in my last pregnancy). I'll also be seen every 1-2 weeks throughout the pregnancy. I know all of these things should help reassure me, but I'm obviously still scared to death.
I'm trying to find a happy medium between the excitement of my first pregnancy and a half where I was planning and buying everything in the first trimester because a loss was unimaginable and the cautious and absolute fear and silence we lived in with my post-loss pregnancy. I want to be able to get my daughter excited about being a big sister without just being worried about how to explain a loss to her now that she's old enough to get it.
So today I am pregnant and I am excited and I'm going to do my best to live in the present. I'm excited to get to reconnect with the wonderful CAL ladies that have moved over in the past few months and get to know many new ones!
Edit to add in some love for the CAL ladies since I'm not posting there.

chicagojackie - supposedly not or the benefit at least outweighs the risk. I think there is more risk for infection with the cervix closer to the vaginal opening. It was a MFM consult that suggested it. I just remove daily to wash with soap.
