When does it start to get better again? I mean it must right?
Sore nipples, my milk came in with a vengence (think fever, headache etc) and Bea's mouth is so tiny it's hard to get her to latch without it being very painful. She lost too much, so I'm pumping to increase supply. Well at least she doesn't have a tongue tie.

Breastfeeding is the hardest the first two weeks and then it gets better. Does it feel like she's chomping down on you or just sore from being at the breast lots? I would use coconut oil, lanolin, or sesame oil on my nips frequently.
DS born 2011 (@35 weeks gestation on my bday) after 2 years TTC and 3 medicated IUIs
DD born 2014 after 1 year TTC, two MCs and 3 medicated IUIs
Dx anovulatory
The first 2-3 weeks were the worst for me. I never liked BFing and never did it past 4 months, but it definitely got easier after a few weeks. Those are hard weeks though. You're doing great!!!
I feel like it really improved somewhere between 4-6 weeks, but we were pretty dependent on a nipple shield until 4ish mos. DS1 was a pincher and DS's mouth was sooooo tiny. I really liked APNO (my OB wrote the script) and used a nipple shell when the nipple pain got too much to handle cloth on my breast.
Just sore from frequent nursing. Trying to get her weight up, and her bilirubin down more. Plus her mouth is so tiny my nipple barely fits so that hurts. Okay, two weeks. I'm almost done the first!

Your post just reminds me of how much i disliked breast feeding Sophie. Lol!!
You can do it tho...just think how it'll get easier soon. Bea's mouth will get bigger and she'll get better at eating as she gets more practice. Your nips will get tougher (gross but true) and your supply will regulate once your body figures out how much baby needs.
Another vote for the 2 week mark making a huge difference. It was so hard. I used a TON of the lanolin in the purple tube. Pretty sure that kid wound up eating a couple tubes worth in the few months I BF. Doc assured me it was ok - I lathered that stuff on like crazy!! Good luck, girl!

Everyone Welcome!
((Hugs)) can you get to an LC? I really tried to focus on getting A to chin touch and then open and reach for the nipple. It worked for us, but the only reason I knew how to get her to do that was from an LC.

Yes, see a LC as soon as possible. Nipples may be sore but shouldn't be cracked if baby is latching correctly. The toughest part for me was feeding around the clock, both my babies lost too much at first so I felt like they never left the boob. Just take a day at a time. You are doing great!!
Thank you all for amazing advice. I saw a LC multiple times in the hospital. My latch was bad on day 1 and 2 and cuz she had nursed so much damage was done. I could have sworn I remembered what I was doing this time.... nope.
So we fixed the latch, which helped. I'm at the "it hurts like hell for the first 10-20 seconds" point. So basically toughing them up as PP said.

Hang in there momma! Don't be afraid to pop her right off if the latch isn't right! If you work on getting it right 100% of the time now, hopefully things will heal quickly and your nips will be saved from further abuse

I was really hoping for a much better experience for you this time. It should start feeling better really soon, if the latch has gotten fixed. Hang in there through that 3 week growth spurt. You got this.
