I'm looking for some new reads but nothing too serious. No death/disease/holocaust for some reason I read a lot of that last year. The only trouble is I haven't been into memoirs so some of the more popular books in this category haven't been interesting me (Jen Lancaster, Yes Please, Bossy Pants).

Aww you are so sweet origamimommy. The only one I haven't read is the Hypnotist's Love Story and I think I can get that as an ebook from the library. If not I'll let you know

Oh!! The Royal We. It's basically William & Kate fanfic but it's fabulous. Actually was a really fun read & it's long too so it lasts you a while (but it doesn't FEEL long, if you know what I mean).
For non-fiction, Have you read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert? It's an older one but I like it. I also really enjoy Anthony Bourdains books.
Oh this thread reminds me to ask. Kindle users- I have a basic kindle and the charger seems to be acting up. Do I need to buy one or will Amazon send another if I say it's not working?
Question 2 - who uses overdrive? I feel like I have to wait forever for books and then I get like 5 at a time. What was the tip for not having to return it?

starfishy If you turn off the wifi on the kindle you can keep your books until you turn it back on. They just won't sync with your other devices.
Overdrive confuses me. I never downloaded the app but I'm wondering if I can listen to audiobooks from the library that way. I think I would like to listen to the memoirs above instead of reading them.
somethingcleverer, do you have kindle unlimited? if so my sister wrote 2 books that are available that way...fair warning they may or may not be your style...they are gay romance novels
names: Wild and Unruly, and Rebel Strings.
They are also for sale...but if have kindle unlimited you can read them for free. I am obviously biased, but I think they are both great!
If you want some easy reads that are a little bit cheesy then look at Julie Ortolon... She writes romance series' that are about friends or family and each book focuses on one person, but they all tie together.
I read the "The Perfect Trilogy" in no time and also read the first three books in the "Pearl Island Series" years ago, I just noticed there are two more to that series (which I thought was also a trilogy). They're super mindless fun reads for those moments when you don't want to think and just want to have a quick and easy read. Its a little embarrassing to admit to, but honestly they're fun to read every so often.
