A dear friend of mine had a brother that OD'd in November. The family found this commercial to be a trigger and very upsetting. Watching a mother react to finding her dead son to disturbingly light music was not entertainment.
I have heard expressions of praise for the video. The praise coming from the viewpoint of OD's can happen to anyone and drug addicts are not always in a sad state and that's where this music came in to play.
Honestly, I don't know what to think. It just made me sad for the man we lost. I feel it wasn't Superbowl appropriate (what happened to funny?), along with that disturbing Nationwide commercial about the dead child.
keen that nationwide one shocked me. Besides just overall depressing, all I could think of was poor families who had experienced a loss like that getting blindsided by it. How gut wrenching that must be.

I'm not saying we should be ignorant of all these things, but time and fucking place, amiright?
That Nationwide commercial was the fucking worst. I can't believe that at some point there was a roomful of Nationwide executives who thought that was a good idea.
