DH and I are going to a movie and dinner!! My parents are going to watch C for us on the 13th. We won't do gifts because a date night is so special these days.
I'm going to have Cece make cards for grandparents and for DH.
I'll probably get little chocolate boxes for the grandparents too.

I love that book! What a great idea!
We don't typically do gifts for Valentine's Day. We just usually do a night out. Our sitter is doing a Parent's Night Out on February 12th. We already made reservations at a nice steak restaurant so that will be our night out.
I'll just do something small for DD. Maybe a stuffed animal and a new book.
Growing up, it was always a big deal. My mom's birthday is two days after Valentines, and my parents anniversary is the day after that, so my dad is in "buy all the things" mode, so it extended to us. We got little things (socks, hair bows, MAYBE a shirt or something), and always cards.
H and I usually exchange little things (new water bottle, for example) and cards. Last year, I sent an ecard from LO to the extended family, and real card for H, and that's about all. Since it's a Sunday, I'll probably make heart shaped things for breakfast this year, for fun!
One year, I did a cream cheese/strawberry/chocolate stuffed french toast, and it was amazing (although not heart shaped). I need to look for recipe ideas!
That book is totes adorbs and not only may I rip the idea off, but I'm going to suggest it to a co-worker who found out recently she's going to be a grandma. Love it!
DH and I will probably just go see a movie and have dinner (though we usually go someplace fancy like Taste of Texas, I just have to be sure I can get babysitting provided by my parents.) We'll probably see Kung Fu Panda 3 or something like that because we really liked the first 2.

That book is so darling. My MIL made a similar one for DD, but I put it away. I should show it to her more often. DH and I usually do cards and sometimes a small gift. We sometimes go out to a nice restaurant a day or two before Valentine's. This year we aren't going out because well money. Haha

TASTE OF TEXAS....TAKE ME WITH YOU!
Me at the Taste of Texas (though their Baked Potato Soup would probably also be Ron Swanson approved since it has bacon.)

Vday is the busiest day of the year for DH, so we never see each other. He always gets a bottle of Lagavulin waiting for him when he gets home from work and he gets me flowers.
He may have too much left of his bottle from last year, which if that's the case, I have to come up with a bottle of something else. I'm really hoping I'm wrong bc I hate looking through everything at the liquor store.
My sis is coming in town Valentine's Day weekend-- so that means we'll probably get a night out together. DH will probably remember it's Valentine's Day at 5 am day of and rush off for flowers and a card, like every year. I'm also going to ask that he get a little something for Junie, maybe 1 flower and a card. Idk.
