Quick intro: LO#2 is due in July and DH and I are having trouble deciding on a girl name. Our top contender so far is Alexandra, with NN of either Alex or Lexie. Last name is one syllable.

Thanks for all the suggestions! You mentioned style, I guess in general I'd say our style is traditional, but mainly I'm considering 1-2 syllable names since Alexandra is fairly long already. Alexandra Kay is one we're thinking about.
Do Alexandras ever go by their full name, no nickname? We grew up in an era of many, many Allies, so I'd like to avoid that NN if possible.

I would call an Alexandra by her full name, but I'm also not that into nns. I could see Anna or Annie as a nn for Alexandra. I don't like Alex, because I don't like boy names on girls (even when it's a nn) and I don't like Lexie because it conveys a stripper image (Sexy Lexie). I prefer Catherine or even Katherine to Kay.
Some more traditional one to two syllable mn suggestions:
Alexandra Clare/Claire Alexandra Celeste Alexandra Elaine Alexandra Irene Alexandra Jane Alexandra June Alexandra Joy Alexandra Louise Alexandra Laura Alexandra Pearl Alexandra Sara Alexandra Susan
List edited to reflect 1-2/traditional style reqs: Alexandra Alice Alexandra Clara Alexandra Eve
Alexandra Flora Alexandra Frances Alexandra Iris Alexandra Jane
Alexandra Jean Alexandra Lily Alexandra Mira Alexandra Marie Alexandra Noelle Alexandra Pearl Alexandra Rose Alexandra Simone Alexandra Susan Alexandra Thea
My name is Alexandra, MN is Lauren. Most people call me Alex or Alexis or Alexia (not sure how a longer name can be a nickname, but I have odd friends). I do go by Alexandra at work, and I did when I took ballet (when I worked at the strip club my NN was Lexi). My last name is one syllable too. I have another friend who is Alexandra Nicole.
I always preferred the spelling of Alessandra over mine though. Rose is a pretty MN.
I'm Alexandra. I didn't have a MN growing up--LN was 3 syllables so parents decided it was enough. My married LN is one syllable so I kept my maiden as MN. It's a good amount of name I think, so don't shy away from longer names *just* because Alexandra is long. Especially since, IME, she will get nicknamed. I go by a zillion things, for some reason the name lends itself to a lot.
