I asked for some girl name input awhile back and got some great answers. Now that I've learned that we're having a boy, I'm back with another question. How do you feel about the middle name Yeager? It's pronounced like Jaeger, or kind of like yay-ger (in my Midwestern accent). It's a family name on my mom's side. DH has wanted to use it as a baby name since he first heard it, but I'm not sold. Will people hear it and think jägermeister? I don't want to come off like a crazy person that named their kid after alcohol. But it is a legit, close family name. So, opinions?
Thanks in advance. You guys have the best naming advice.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. In my family we don't associate the name with the alcohol since we all grew up hearing it all the time. I suspected most people objectively hearing it would think of liquor, and I guess I was right. It's obviously a no-go. Thanks for the help!
My first thought was jaeger. Jaeger bombs to be specific. It's unfortunate that is the common association here:( Maybe find another common family name or one equally unique?

Yup. Alcohol. The only name I can think of that is similar would be Jagger, but that name is rising in popularity quickly and I'm not sure if it's your style.
It doesn't bother me as a middle name since it had family significance. After you announce his birth on FB or via cards, how often are people going to see/hear the middle name anyway.

My maiden name is Yeager... I love my maiden name, but people have referenced the alcohol my whole entire life (well, once we were at an age we knew what it was). I would love to 'carry on' my family name, but I just wouldn't do it. I know most people don't reference MN regularly, but trust me, the jokes and references get old after awhile
