Anyone feeling little pains low in the abdomen?

This afternoon, I started feeling "things going on" (not really sure how to describe it) really low in my abdomen, mostly on the right side. It's not painful, but it kind of feels like little stabs or something. I don't remember feeling anything with my previous pregnancies (other than SPD - and that certainly wasn't this early). I've never had round ligament pain before, but everything I've read says you typically don't get that until after the first trimester.

Anyone else feeling anything like this?

That said, it's nothing to be ashamed of to call your OB and let them know what's going on. They may want you to come in.

Yep! It feels like RLP to me. I just assumed it was happening already because it is #2 and things had already stretched once. I have a phone appt with the nurse tomorrow so I was going to mention it.

Right there with you jwinct. I've been getting little pains on and off the past two days or so. Nothing to make me think it's an issue, but enough for me to notice it.

I was going to say corpus luteum cyst, but raechay beat me to it. There is no harm in calling your doctor to ask about it though. FWIW, with my first pregnancy and this one, I had some crampy-like feelings down below. Not menstrual cramp like, but more like irritation.

I am definitely feeling RLP if I move awkwardly or stretch.

It's funny because I was going to post with another abdominal pain/feeling question. For the past hour, I feel spams or flutters (not really, of course) right below my belly button. It is not painful, but still weirding me out. Why are bodies so strange?

Yeah I get (and got with DD) weird almost crampy/tugging twinges every so often. I'm not concerned. Just stuff stretching out down there I think.

Yes, I'm definitely having lots of RLP as well. Sneezing or stretching in a certain position really seem to do it.

What is round ligament pain?



The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes may occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen, typically first noticed during the second trimester.



You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation or a sharp, stabbing pain if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You might also feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day – when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.



You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit.

jwinct, it seems hard to know how to diagnose with such a pain - I get so many aches and pains in that general region outside of pregnancy. With your previous pregnancies, was the pain different enough that you knew what it was?

This is pretty much what I'm having... kind of dull crampy stuff but it could totally be related to gas too...

I dug out my What to Expect... and it said for #2's that symptoms can appear much sooner...

This did not stop me from ordering a pack of 50 Wondfo's today from Amazon...

It wasn't pain, exactly. It went away after a few hours and I haven't felt it again. It was likely things stretching and growing down there.  I don't recall ever feeling anything like that before, but it's also been 7 years since I was last pregnant. My ute is probably groaning, "Oh, here we go again. We're too old for this, lady." LOL

ETA: I just realized I think I misunderstood what you were asking. I don't think I ever experienced RLP in my previous pregnancies. I only recall experiencing SPD with my last one, and that was pretty awful. I'm really hoping that does't happen again.

For me, I notice RLP if I go from sitting to standing too quickly, or from a squatting position to standing (like if I'd been squatting to bathe DS then stand straight up too fast, you kind of have to bend over again for a minute to make it go away). It's basically the ligaments that hold your uterus in place, stretching out to accommodate for the growth happening (ligaments are not known for their elasticity, which is why it's painful). Whereas corpus luteum pain (again, in my own experience) will occur if you're just sitting still, lying in bed not moving, etc - and feels more like a sharp stabby pain.
