saltyfins I have a few ounces once or twice per week or so. If we release a new beer at the brewery I certainly taste it so I can talk about it. HOWEVER! I cannot wait to have a proper pint... or four.
I haven't had a drop of beer since my BFP. At first, I had PgAL brain, then it was all the issues I've been having. There was just never a good time to sneak a taste. And D stopped drinking out of solidarity, so the temptation wasn't as great as it could've been.
But the closer I get to being able to enjoy a nice pint, the more I crave it.
I'm in disbelief. For the first time ever, our nonsleeper actually slept all night in his bed without having one of us go in at some point during the night. Yes! Will it happen again? Probably not. But last night was magical.
I also want a beer! I just got a box of beer bread mix so that will have to suffice for now. I think I have probably asked for beer as much as chocolate this time around. I haven't gotten any but whatever.
Re: baby sizes. My oldest was in NB for 3 months and 0-3 until 6 months! Despite being roughly the same size at birth, my second was only in NB for 1 month and 0-3 for 3 months and then spot on for size the rest of the time (except pants because she had no butt to hold them up)
A friend of mine is in baking/pastry classes and keeps posting pics of her goodies and chocolates. I told her she needs to stop posting them or start planning deliveries to the pregnant lady. She said she can be here tomorrow morning! Yay me!
Yummmm -- I'm obsessed with Crabbies ginger beer. I Had a half one a few weeks ago ...but I can't enjoy it as much while pregnant, even though I know it's NBD. So, after kid is born, I'm looking forward to those, and of course -- mango mimosas.
Dear diary, I just read I have a 50% chance of baby turning on his own. Plus maybe 40% chance of successful version? Trying to stay positive... But then I'm like 50% chance he won't flip, 60% chance version will fail, 25% chance c/s anyway -- I need to prepare for possible c/s. Meh. I've seen you guys talk about importance of preparing for both types of birth, and I've just glossed over it... But you're right. ok. Big girl panties. Silver lining: c/s means I'd have a guaranteed intact perineum...? ;p
As for the beer, I managed half a Stella a few weeks ago, before I started feeling all warm in the face! I miss my Sol with a lime and I miss mai tais and other such drinks
mango Totally agree with preparing for every scenario. And try to stay positive. I'm not trying to blow glitter at you; I just think fear is an insidious, strong emotion that can affect the outcome. *Hugs*
People, I've said it before and I'll say it again...it isn't a guarantee that your kid is in NB for a hot second, despite the stereotype. E was in NB for TWO MONTHS, not two minutes. So, sure, you could always go out and buy more, but the whole, no NB for me, my kid won't even be in it...don't bank on it. It is possible, but not absolutely a given.
I hear ya. I'm just trying to figure out how much I need washed and ready to go before she comes. I have an nb coming home outfit and figure h can do a load if she is that size.
About wraps - I know nothing but bought a wrapsody woven and a Maya ring sling woven. Both were on sale for about $80 each. I'm not picky about the design. I also have an ergo. My mom has an infantino she got for $1.00 she is trying to give me.
I got overwhelmed by BW102 on FB so just kind of took a shot in the dark with my carriers.

We're in the same boat mama. I don't think I'll be allowed a version though with the low fluid and anterior placenta. I've been mentally preparing myself for c/s for weeks now. I've been doing spinning babies for about a week and have had 3 chiro webster adjustments now to no avail.
For me, silver linings of c/s are: like you said intact perineum, knowing exactly when he'll be born, no labor pain.. That's about where I'm at lol. I'm not gonna lie I want a vaginal birth so, so badly. I'm religious so for me personally I figure I'll leave it to God because it's easier for me to give it up and realize this is out of my hands.
If it helps, I've been watching birth vlogs on YouTube of c sections and it's still just as beautiful watching that moment mom and dad first lay eyes on their baby. I know either way it's going to be the best day of my life. And the circumstance is temporary.

You work at a brewery?!?!
Yes, I do! I left my long-term corporate career for craft beer. I'm proud to say I work at one of the best in the state.

I have and Infantino Mei Tai from when they went on sale at Target and a wrap of some kind that FIL found in a box labeled "future grandchild" that MIL must have put together before she passed. (I am very happy to have that wrap as it will be a gift for a baby she never knew about. She died while I was pregnant with #2, so this will be something especially for #3 from her Nana.)
I'm getting ready to ditch the BW102 page as they are filling up my wall on the daily and mostly with the same questions from newbs all the time!

Except for the low fluid issue, our boys are channeling each other (CPC's, AP, breech...)! I admire your attitude -- you are doing the things you can, and the rest is out of your hands. And it'll be just as magical of a moment to meet baby C. I'm going to check out You Tube -- never knew c/s births were on there too! Thanks.

Omg, that is so sweet (and sad) about your MIL.
And I'm still in the 102 group but I blocked the posts from showing up on my feed for the same reason. So effing annoying! But I want to be able to access it when I want to : )

Omg, marry me?
Did you love that Budweiser commercial during the SB or what?
I understand why some people gravitate to something like Budweiser but their marketing attempt there was full of it, IMO. Their marketshare has been declining as people figure out what their palates really want. AB InBev is another giant focusing on acquiring quality brew co.'s in lieu of high quality ingredients (their style includes up to 40% adjuncts like corn and rice and this includes Pabst and MillerCoors, etc.). It's cheaper to produce so it's no question how they've become so big. But then we're all learning: fresh beer is best. Drink it as close to the source as possible. Respect the ingredients and craftsmanship going into it. I don't think they'll be able to turn this ship now and I'm happy for it.
That said, if you walked into my brewery and asked for my help on what to drink, my next question will be, "What is your usual choice?" If you tell me Bud Light or Coors Light, I will never, ever shame you for it. That's obnoxious. It's a gauge to tell me where we need to begin in a microbrew selection. I love that part of my job. Anyone (server, bartender) who does otherwise can go fuck themselves. It's unnecessary and pretentious.
All this talk of beer...I wish I liked beer, I really do. But I just don't. I've forced some down in an attempt to win glory in a game of flip cup, but really I just like sweet stuff, like daiquiris and sangria which of course is more expensive.
I wish I wish a beer girl, too. But all this talk of alcohol makes me crave a nice bottle of wine. Not to mention how PERFECT a glass of wine would be right now. I finally got a foot bath massager and DH is keeping the electric kettle fresh so I can keep the perfect hot temperature. *melts into couch*
OMG AleWife I think I love you. I am a big wine person but am definitely super into craft beer too. I used to HATE beer and then I realized I just hated cheap light beer but love the flavors of a good craft beer. My H is super into crafts too and has attempted a few batches of home brews. He has neglected the hobby due to time lately but I realllllly want him to pick it back up.
AleWife I agree, I don't think that the tide will change. Microbrews are here to stay! I used to work in a microbrewery, so that's where I learned to appreciate good beer. I agree though, no need to shame anyone for their beer preferences. That's why the commercial annoyed me so much. Not a good strategy for them. it was like the point of the commercial was to appeal to the shrinking group of people who already like and drink their beer, while pushing further away the people who are already choosing competitor products.
I've only been really into beer for a few years. Before that, I drank whiskey and wine (and still love those too). But when I started to learn about the history, the science and amazing taste available I was hooked. You'd be surprised how many beers drink LIKE wine and even better than wine. And wine is not even a close match to beer with regard to food pairing. Oh, I could go on for days! Let's have a drink! Ha.

I liked the Budweiser commercial but only because it made me think of my stepdad- a true Budweiser guy if there ever was one.
I don't think I've tried enough micro brews or other 'special' beers to know what I'd like... I am a bud light person! And this is positively shameful because I live so close to so many great breweries that look like great places to hang out. Methinks DH & I really need a date night once baby gets here, we could go get schnockered and are close enough to walk home,

Omg beer! I love going to the microbreweries or getting a six pack of craft beer from total wine. I'm in love with an oatmeal stout that a local brewery makes. Yummy. Dh buys Coors cause more for your money, but I prefer quality to quantity.
Ok. I was sitting on the couch, looking at fb and reached for my crochet hook that I just had in my hand. It wasn't there. I couldn't find it, I looked all around me on the couch and couldn't find my damn crochet hook! All the moving around made me have to pee again so I got up, walked across the room to the bathroom and sat on the toilet. That's when I found my crochet hook. It was in my cleavage/bra. I lost a crochet hook in my boobs!!!!!
