Does your daycare ask you to bring supplies or donations for the class? I received a note that they wanted parents to donate wipes, snacks, paper towels and a few other things. I feel like our fees should provide these. We send wipes and diapers for changing but that's it. What do you guys think?
Ummm, no. We provide our own supplies for our children, but anything that's communal (like paper towels or toilet paper, etc.) are provided by the center and supported by our tuition fees. They do ask for parents to bring things in when there's a party - like festive paper plates, tablecloths, and snacks - but that's it.
We provide diapers, wipes, diaper cream, tissues, and additional snacks just for O. They sometimes ask for a special treat snack but only once every 2-3 months.
We use an in-home, so I feel like it would almost be expected more to ask for things than a large center. (I don't pay nearly the high rates that you guys pay).
The only things I have ever been asked to bring are her diapers, wipes, butt cream (I think the wipes & cream end up being community and they just use them all unless they know someone has reactions to a particular kind).

I wouldn't expect this.
Our classrooms have a rotating "Family of the Week" - they bring in a gallon of (organic) milk on Monday along with some flowers, and a fruit salad/side for the littles to have with their pizza Friday (the one meal a week they provide, which we pay $5/month for).
Beyond that, there is a "donation" list of things that the classroom wants/needs. We're not expected to buy things off it though unless we feel like it.
I definitely feel like asking you to get things like paper products is silly, and should be included in your fees.
That sounds a little ridiculous. Our DCP asks for plastic bags, and things like empty tissue boxes, toilet paper rolls ect that she can use for their crafts. Basically, only things we are otherwise throwing out.

Yeah, no. We provide diapers and 3 packs of wipes per month (communal wipes also used for cleaning hands and such). Sometimes they ask us to bring in things for special projects if we have them around the house (right now DS's class is asking for old cookbooks and kitchen utensils for the home living area) but it's always a "hey if you have it, it would be nice" type of thing.
They also have a few fundraisers per year that I refuse to participate in. I'm not selling cookie dough for a place where I also pay tuition that is more than a house payment. No way.

What kinds of things are on the donation list?
Sorry for the vagueness. I haven't actually looked at the current list, but it's generally things like toys and puzzles. I'll have a look at the current list when I pick LO up today and give you a more accurate list!
Parents provide diapers, wipes, and lunch. The school serves snacks, but if your child stays after 3, they encourage you to pack another snack also. Their snacks are really great (fresh fruit, healthy cereal, wheat toast, organic goldfish crackers, etc.), so I rarely pack extra stuff. The only time they've asked for donations or something more is when they are having a party, and either each family chips in $5, or there's a sign up list for stuff to bring.
I also vote "um, no". We provide diapers and they provide everything else. I don't like the milk they provide so I send organic. I agree with 42butterflies - house payment fees = don't ask for anything else. lol
We are asked to pay a supply fee each semester of $50. We didn't start until December so we didn't pay it that semester but just paid it. I don't really know what supplies it buys but I knew up front I would have to pay it so no big deal. As a teacher myself, I know there is so much the teachers buy out of their pockets so I assume this helps defray some of those costs for things like crayons or stickers.

No supplies other than diapers and wipes for LO. We are at a large center that runs around $300 per week. We bring treats for class parties every few months. They asked for book donations during the book fair and also asked for donated raffle items for a fundraiser, but never anything that is part of day to day classroom functioning. That would concern me.
The center we are at is smalland relatively new. (Just about a year old) She does occasionally ask for things for crafts or projects such as paper plates or baby food jars.
When we signed up she said that she was still working on aquiring larger items for outside and toys. She said if we had toys that we were thinking of getting rid of that we consider donating them.
Honestly I feel like we don't pay her enough so when she asks for craft supplies I readily hand them over if we have them layng around or they are easy to aquire. I even condsiered buying a play kitchen for the toddler room when they went on sale. However if I was paying what the other places around here charge I would be more reluctant to cough it up.
They have done two fundraisers though -- pictures and a BBQ fundraiser. I don't think the BBQ went very well though because the profits were supposed to provide a new check-in system that allowed credit card payments and that has yet to appear (we have to pay with cash/check). It's a family-run center that is medium in size, I would say.

Our daycare requires us to provide one roll of paper towel and on pack of community wipes each month. For D I provide his diapers and wipes. By choice I provide his lunch and milk but the school would provide it if I ok it. They also serve snacks.

Same for us too, except I don't know about a parent board. We actually aren't allowed to bring any extras like food except for holidays for the teachers and even then, I don't think you can do homemade.
I go to an in-home so it might be different but this hasn't happened and I would be irritated if it did. The only thing I am expected to provide is diapers, my DCP takes care of everything else.
