1. Personal Finance- I listen to a lot of Dave Ramsey, which has really sparked an interest for me. I like the idea that personal finance is more about behavior than numbers and, even though we still goof some months, I like the sense of accomplishment DH and I have about how far we have come in this area. Doing the Money Matters/Money Monday chats is fun for me because I like seeing how people think about this topic.
2. Documentaries- Specifically, human interest stories. This is another recent interest for me, but I like learning about people with compelling stories or who live in a way that is totally different from me. There are some great ones on Netflix right now.
3. (I went back and forth about my third one) The Walking Dead- In a year I probably won't remember saying this was a topic I'm interested in, but for now it is. It's the only show DH and I watch together and I like how it's a thing that people speculate about and can get excited about. The last time I watched a show in "real time" that wa exciting to talk about was LOST. Man, those first two seasons were so good. (Oh, that ending though...)
Tough to pick as I have never really thought about what my number one favorite topic even is. Also hard to narrow because I tend to be into a lot of things at any given time. So in no particular order and completely off the top of my head (so maybe not the most accurate for front-runners)...
*I am wanting to learn more about business. I know some aspects from a background associated with construction management, but I really want to learn much more in depth. I just haven't gotten around to looking into solid resources yet, so maybe this doesn't even count as a topic of interest yet.
*SNs. More specifically, several particular topics within the broader topic, but you get the idea.
*Sewing. I am greatly interested in all of my crafts and similar creative hobbies, such as wood working and crochet and the million others, but sewing is the one I have really been expanding my knowledge and skills on this past year, so I have done the most research around it lately (also helps that I actually have a decent space to sew unlike some of the other activities which take up a lot more room and/or involve loud tools and therefore limit my work in those areas ATM).

Hm, good question! I've never really thought about it so let's see what I can come up with
1) Food. I love trying new recipes and seeing what others are making as well. If you would have asked me this a year ago, no way would it have been remotely close but I've really started to get into cooking and experimenting. Plus I sell with a direct sales company so that helps too.
2) Money, more specifically budgeting. I've been doing coupons for about a year now and I'm finally in a place where I can tell it's paying off. I've managed to get our budget down to about $50-$75 for the week, trying to stick more towards the $50 mark. I also get really excited when I gave a big trip with huge savings! I don't buy overboard but we have enough that I don't have to worry about certain stuff for awhile.
3) Houses. I feel like I should have been a realtor. I love looking at different homes and different ways to decorate ours or even just make the most out of the space we have.

I'm cheating, I have a #4.
Travel! I also feel like I should have been a travel agent. I have all these ideas of vacations I want to take and places I would love to see. My husband and I have been on a few cruises and I love being able to see a few different places but would love to see more of the local stuff. I also want to visit Italy, Ireland, & Australia. There is just so much to see out there!
1. Music. I play the flute and absolutely love playing and listening to different things.
2. Theater..mostly musicals. We have an amazing theater downtown, and I love getting tickets to see different things! My all time favorite musical is The Phantom of the Opera. I also saw an amazing production of Anything Goes that is a close second.
3. Baking. I don't do it often, but I love having company over because I feel like I have an excuse to bake!

For those who sew, what kind of projects are you working on?
I make, alter, and repair clothing and whatever else (made an irregular size pillowcase, repaired a seam in a pillowcase, repaired a hem in a towel, etc). I am currently washing fabric to make a new cover for my ironing board and same fabric for a sewing machine apron with tool caddy. I do lots of odds and ends from baggies (for toys, chargers, large spools of thread that don't fit in my case, etc) to sewing machine covers to storage bins to 5757585 other random things. I want to try my hand at quilting; I have a design already figured out but need to get more fabric and time.

That's awesome. So frugal too. I should have paid more attention to my grandma sewing.

Any savings are usually a very welcomed bonus. Often it is cheaper, but a person does have to be mindful. I made a tank that was a bit pricier than I could have bought one for, but it is better quality, better fit, has wider straps (vs spaghetti straps so my bra straps are covered). I have trouble finding clothes that fit well and that I like, so this is a good solution. I also always loved designing clothes. If you truly want to do it (even just basics like mending a seam, shortening pants, etc), there is always youtube. It is like a younger version of "grandma" that you can pause, rewind, and pick a different teaching method for.

Mstly I do stuff for the kiddos. Blankets, quilts, ring slings, then I come up with little projects to use up scrap fabric, like bibs and ties and stuffed animals.

I don't know if I can fit in a book a month on a regular basis, but I may jump in to try here and there. I have a stack of books already waiting to be read first though, so it probably will be a while before I can join.
Speaking of monthly discussions, I know we discussed a monthly crafting thread. I will start it on the first of the month (I was waiting so it would follow the calendar months because I would lose track otherwise). Any particular format we want or just an open-ended thread to add whatever as we go? Another option is rotating topics throughout the month - such as one week a project show and/or tell type post (either projects in progress or completed projects), the next week a Q&A, the third week ___, and the fourth week ___; something along those lines anyway - either as new threads or within a month-long thread. Thoughts? Other ideas?
