VANCOUVER — Canada's food safety watchdog has announced a recall of cantaloupes due to possible Salmonella contamination. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says Freshpoint Vancouver Ltd. is recalling Del Monte and Sysco Imperial Fresh-brand cantaloupes. The recalled fruit has been sold in B.C., Alberta and Manitoba, and possibly across the country. There have been no reported illnesses linked to the fruit but consumers are being told to either throw it out or return it to the store.

I swear cantaloupe is recalled like twice a year. And docs are worried about deli meat...
At a work conference a pregnant coworker was lamenting there was nothing for her to eat (lunch one day was a build a sandwich bar).
I looked her dead in the eye and said "statistically speaking, the lettuce in your salad and the cantaloupe in your fruit salad is more likely to be the culprit of listeria. If you're that worried, have the hotel microwave the meat for you"
