Hi ladies/gents. I am a tcf patron, mostly in the August 15 birth month group. I stay at home, and babysit for a couple of families for extra spending money.
One of the families I have been sitting for for 3 years, is the Quesenberry family. They have over the years opened their home to two adopted children, and a foster placement. The mother was from a similar background, and she and her husband have made helping children in need their purpose in life.
They were recently traveling to Bulgaria to welcome two young boys into their home and family after learning about the great need for adoptive families in Bulgaria. Tragically, the father suffered a heart attack at 44 years old, while in Bulgaria to finalize the adoption. He passed away.
Now, the mother is out of the country with two new adoptive children and her own biological son... trying to figure out how to get her husband's remains back to the US while suffering tremendous grief and uncertainty about her family's future.
There's a fundraising site running for them. Here is her story, if any of you feel compelled to help her out...it would be beyond appreciated.

Please feel free to move or delete if this isn't the best place to post. Just looking for support for an adoptive family (and personal friend) in crisis. I want to help her, it's such a tremendous loss... She could really use a little community outreach.

Not that friendship will come anywhere close to meeting thier financial needs right now, but have you thought about inviting her to TCF. I know there are a handful of younger widows on the board, and I'm sure having a safe place to vent during this time would be huge for her.

NariaDreaming, that's a good idea. When she gets back to the states, I will mention it to her and send her a link to the boards. I'm not sure she will be up for it right away, but it's worth mentioning.
