1) lo first birthday? When is it? March 5. I think I'm still in denial that she is turning 1.
2) challenges? vents? Raves? Still trying to get LO to sleep through the night. My husband has been so awesome by giving her a bottle in the middle of the night. She usually only drinks 2 ounces and then passes out. Then I nurse her when she gets up at around 5 (then she sleeps until 7 or 730). When will she completely sleep through the night!?
3) weaning? Anyone? Slowly weaning from the pump. I pump about 4 ounces at 8am and then another 2 ounces at around 5pm. I am planning on dropping my evening session next week and then no pumping at all when she turns 1. I'm still nursing and we both enjoy it. I will continue to nurse past 1 year if LO still wants to.
4) gtky. What's on your bucket list? 3 kids...sounds odd to be on a bucket list?
2) Nursing and weaning at this stage with my son was easy. At 14 months, he decided he was done, and that was it. He loved cow milk and was happy. My daughter still wants to nurse (which I am 100% in favor of), but my supply isn't great anymore. She hates cow milk so far and thinks I'm insane for offering it to her.
3) I'm not really trying to wean, but I know it'll probably happen soonish.
4) I don't know. Years ago, I probably would have listed off a bunch of pipe dream type things. Now, there really isn't anything specific that I feel like I need to or want to do before I die. I guess I'd like to travel more.
1. March 9. I can't believe it. 2. Status quo here. Lo has been going to bed and waking up a bit earlier lately. So we're trying to figure out a new schedule. 3. Haven't started weaning yet. The pedi said we'd talk about wcm at the 12 month appt. We are going to Florida in a couple weeks and it'd be nice to have her take wcm for at least one feeding but oh well. I'm starting to feel ready to wean, which surprises me. I feel a little guilty about being ready. 4. DH and I want to go to Wimbledon one day. We're big tennis fans.
Hi ladies! 1) LO will be one on March 11th! Cannot relieve it. 2) nothing big. LO has gotten through her first cold/ ear infection so her sleep is still wonky but she doesn't seem to want to nurse at motn anymore. 3) I've been trying to figure this one out. She's mostly weaned overnight unless she's ill but how does it work during the day. She nurses every 3.5/4 hours, do I just replace it with cows milk (or in our case goats milk)? Also her nursing schedule is a little off our solids schedule, do I try to just combine them? So many questions! I have an appt on Friday with the pedi so I'll ask but I feel so confused. Also we are both enjoying nursing so I think I'll do it when we're home and do milk at daycare. 4) bucket list: travelling pretty much anywhere. I'd really like to go to china/Middle East /Egypt/Italy but some are not safe to travel to so those will stay on the list. Other than that just a house. Apartment living is not a hike lotta fun.
1. LO's 1st birthday is March 27. I really need to start planning a party 2. I started traveling locally again for work, and I'm finding it challenging to pump as I normally would while in my regular office. I never got the pumping while driving down, so that's out. So recently, I've just been pumping 3 times a day rather than 4 while at work and have noticed a decrease in supply. 3. I'm certainly thinking about how I'll wean from pumping during the day. I think with my slightly decreased pumping, I'll continue at 3x a day for a while and think about when to decrease to 2. LO generally doesn't nurse overnight and I'm at work before she gets up. So that leaves me without nursing or pumping for about 12 hours. I don't know how I'll be able to wean from the first pump of the day since I'm usually pretty engorged by that point. 4. I'd love to take LO on a Christmas Market trip to Germany and to Korea to meet her cousins one day.

St Patty's Day baby, March 17th
Only challenge this week is that when I have my period, my milk drops a little. I produce just enough or a little under. Usually I ended up with a couple ounces left over that I just carry forward. She's also down to one feeding at night now which we give her a bottle of formula for (unless I have that much milk left over) so I'm officially an EP now.
Haven't started weaning yet, I'll probably start after her 1st birthday
On my bucket list is to get to Europe someday, Italy would be nice. Maybe Norway or Iceland or England
1) lo first birthday? When is it? March 28, I gotta start planning!
2) challenges? vents? Raves? Lately I feel like LO isn't getting enough. She's just been fussy and clingy and sometimes cries after nursing like she wants more. So I think I will be adding some formula to the last nursing before the bedtime feeding now too. I've also added a some solids snacks too. Also dealing with early wakeups is starting to take it's toll.
3) weaning? Anyone? Just going with the flow. Not trying to wean but not desperately trying to avoid it anymore.
4) gtky. What's on your bucket list? I want to fly a plane and I want to volunteer in a foreign orphanage.
No new challenges really. My supply has increased a little in the last week, randomly. I've also spaces out some of my pumps - so some days I only pump twice at work & some days three times. I base it on how busy I am & how much I would prefer to just shut my door..haha. I feel like I'm just going to keep pumping until after a year, but since we'll be traveling around his birthday I am struggling about what to do for the week we're gone - just use formula so I don't have to pump? Or suck it up & bring the pump and just do it morning & before bed? I hate having the extra stuff in my luggage, but we won't start transitioning to WCM until after a year because he was sensitive early on & seems fine with milk based foods...but I'm lactose intolerant, so I want to be home when we transition, not in Puerto Rico.
My bucket list is really - travel, often. Anywhere. I want LO to LOVE to travel like I do. It'll probably mean a combo of plane & car trips, since we aren't loaded. HAHA. Other life goals would be to retire "on time" which is unheard of in both of our families, and to have enough in retirement that we can travel or have a winter condo somewhere warm. Actually...I'd like that winter condo sooner than retirement. I don't know - we're really working on setting up our finances so we're in a much better place than our parents & so far that work is paying off. But it's a constant battle of wants vs. needs - like I kind of want a bigger house with a better yard..but if we stay in our current house we're not at all stretched & can have it paid off by the time I'm 45....and then that mortgage money would be a huge asset towards our retirement.
J is one of the youngest babies on the board. His birthday isn't until March 30.
I'm having some of the same soreness issues that Somers Isles mentioned in a thread yesterday. I think there's a supply and demand issue with timing. I have more milk during the day while he's at daycare and less at night when we're together. He gets frustrated and pulls on the nipple. He will sometimes take a bottle from me but only reluctantly.
Right now we nurse in the morning, in the evening, and MOTN if he wants it. I'm down to one pump a day and he's only taking 8 oz max at daycare. I'm not consciously weaning but it seems to be happening on its own. After 1 year I'm going to quit pumping and nurse at night and in the morning if he wants. Weekends might be tricky - he's used to nursing on demand but I guess he'll just have to make due with sippy cups of WCM instead.
I want to do a lot more traveling. I've only been to Europe once and other than that I've never left North America. Australia, South Africa, Italy, and Japan are all on my list.
jtizzay DH and I went to Ecuador and the Galapagos for our honeymoon. It was ahhhmazing. We're big into scuba diving and the Galapagos has some of the best. Sea lions, penguins, manta rays, hammer head sharks... it was crazy.
1) lo first birthday? When is it? March 28th. Haven't started to plan for a birthday party yet. I recently took a DSLR class, so I'm thinking of maybe doing my own cake smash photo shoot...we'll see if I'm motivated enough.
2) challenges? vents? Raves? Woke up to leaking boobs the past few days. What gives? I haven't had to wear nursing pads in a while since my supply adjusted to DD STTN. Maybe it's boost in supply with all the nursing on demand we've done because of snowapocalypse.
3) weaning? Anyone? Not yet, but thinking about it. Planning to top off bottles with WCM at 11.5 months. I'd love to just go down to morning/night sessions with no pumping at work...
4) gtky. What's on your bucket list? Definitely travel. Lots of scuba diving around the world.

1) LO is an April baby so we still have more than 2 months to go!!
2) This LO is driving me crazy.......she has taken to pulling my shirt down and screaming whenever she wants to nurse (on the changing table, in my lap, from her highchair). She also snacks like crazy. I'd like to get her on a more scheduled "tata time" before I try to wean. Speaking of...
3) With DD1 I cut one feeding out at a time and that worked great. Not sure how that's going to go with this one. DH suggests I wean (or start weaning) at 1 because he knows how much she's been driving me crazy, but I don't know....what I WANT is to have her nursings just more regulated.....anyone have any experience getting an all-the-time nurser to become a more scheduled nurser??
4) Bucket list? I think mostly a lot of travel. Safari! Alaska! Australia! Everywhere!!! I would love to go hang gliding! And on some of those really big zip lines!
1) lo first birthday? When is it? March 3rd!!! And I can believe it. What a year it has been. 2) challenges? vents? Raves? The biting has started again 3x in the last 3 days and it's no joke. I think we are going to be weaning rapidly in the next month but I am confident that between my stash and the 5-7oz I pump/day we will make it to a year of all BM. I'll think about WCM starting in March. 3) weaning? Anyone? See above. 4) gtky. What's on your bucket list? All I have in mind is a kick ass condo downtown Chicago. But I would also like to go see the Penguins in Patagonia and travel to Australia.
Mom fail. I just learned that you need to replace your pump membranes every few months. I've replaced mine exactly never. Not surprisingly, I'm doing a lot better pumping today with the new membranes.

Didn't know such a thread existed! Hope you don't mind that I jump in 1) lo first birthday? When is it? Robert turns 1 year on March 27! 7 weeks to go! Yikes!!!!!!!!! 2) challenges? vents? Raves? So many challenges all of a sudden! I posted about this the other day but I EP and my boobs are staging a coup ... my boobs are super sore, they're chapped, they're cracked, they bleed, and they're even kinda puffy (I know you wanted ALL the specifics! hehe). I'm doubling up on the lanolin but it's not really helping. I'm down to pumping just 2x a day because it's all I can bear. We'll see how that affects my supply... so far I can get 4 servings ... we'll see how long that lasts. In terms of raves, I've made it this far!! 3) weaning? Anyone? I forgot to call Robert's pedi but when I do I'm going to see what she thinks about just moving to wcm when my freezer stash shows signs of running out. All I know is, the moment he turns 1, I would love to chuck my pump into a river .... lol. I remember when I thought pumping would be no big deal. Wow. haha 4) gtky. What's on your bucket list? Hmm.... I'm not really sure! I think i'm just too busy that I haven't thought of anything... which is kinda sad. I'm going to think about this...
1) lo first birthday? When is it? Mar 8 2) challenges? vents? Raves? Sleep, although it has greatly improved and he is almost STTN again. So, both a challenge and a rave I guess. Another challenge is LO is getting so fast with his walking. We had a near-scare which made me realize I really can't keep my eye off of him, even for 30 seconds. That seriously is all it takes. 3) weaning? Anyone? Not yet but it's on my mind 4) gtky. What's on your bucket list? Bora Bora
@somersisle ....is it possible you have an infection or a bad case of thrush or something?
I didn't realize there were so many March 27 babies!
It does sound like you could have thrush! Call your OB!
I'm more convinced now that it's something more than just sore boobs. I actually just updated on my other thread, which I tagged you in babycaps in case you can offer some med advice
