There is a new TOU. AmyG posted on several boards, including D14, letting people know about it and some potential impacts. TB has been deleting her posts (she had posted in the "clarification" sticky on D14.)
Apparently explaining the TOU so that people understand what they are agreeing to by using the site is against the TOU. See this post on the BF forum:
Wtf? That is so ridiculous. I was lurking on April 15 the other day just for fun and it is a shit show everywhere. Apparently one of their members got warned for voicing the opinion that a child should be spanked. I don't want to spank my children but the opinion that spanking is okay wasn't illegal last time I checked. The Bump has turned to an insane form of censorship and I don't even understand the purpose of it.
Make sure to click on the link I posted. AmyG posted the BS warning she got. Apparently explaining the TOU interferes with people's enjoyment of the site.
I was shocked to see her posts being removed. What's wrong with either quoting the TOU or summarizing them for other members? Luckily she was quoted on some boards so you can still see her comments. She said nothing offensive...unless the truth hurts??
They've done so many dumb things in the past month, but for some reason warning AmyG is the most insane to me. She's like, a living legend of breastfeeding awesomeness.
They've now flagged AmyG on TB so that none of her posts are visible to anyone. Hope no one wanted to go back and look for any advice she may have given (or is attempting to continue to give).

Yeah I figured they would have banned me and let the breastfeeding posts live on but no, make em hidden. board wide ignore.
My post on D14 was deleted. And I got my first warning! I asked for clarification on which part of the TOU specifically I violated, but I'm sure I'll never know.
Dear Pooky08, This is your first warning, regarding the following post: You know the awesome person who donates her time answering questions about all things breastfeeding related? That everyone loved and appreciated?
They've silenced her. They've made it so none of her posts are visible.
You are being warned for a violation of the TOU, which states: If you post something to the Site, such as comments or other content, do not post anything that:uses strong, vulgar, obscene or otherwise harmful language,is fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, harassing, abusive or discriminatory Please review the TOU and our guidelines to avoid further violations. Multiple warnings may result in a banning of your account. We respectfully ask that you refrain from this type of behavior.
My response: Please let me know what about my post used strong, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise harmful language. It certainly wasn't fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, harassing, abusive, or discriminatory. I believe I was warned simply because I raised an issue that was unpopular with the current admin team.

WOW. That's all I can say. I suppose @amyg was giving out too much helpful info and they want more newbies to get their chance to spread misinformed advice? And you're being discriminatory to them by sticking up for her.
*Edit to change mewbies to newbies. They're not kittens!
I wonder if this is worth submitting to some kind of press. Not like USA today or anything but some sort of baby related news site which I guess I have no idea if one exists.
@amyg, I am disappointed on your behalf. From what you provided to D14, I can only imagine the countless hours you spent putting into your thoughtful posts across boards. Though it's ridiculous that they are no longer visible, please know that this was not time wasted. It is abundantly clear that your knowledge has been a tremendous help to so many of us, probably many more lurkers than we even know. So thank you, your efforts were not in vain.

pooky08 I can't believe you got a warning for your post!!! So ridiculous. There is nothing in your post that deserved a warning. @amyg thank you for all your hard work answering bf questions. It's ridiculous what the bump did.

They haven't learned...and I have a feeling they won't. I'm very sorry this is the way they want to act. @amyg did nothing wrong and TB can still cannot handle the truth.
I just don't understand their reasoning at all. It makes no sense and is only detrimental to ban her posts. But then, I was lurking on October 15's board, which is the most ridiculous thing ever, and I guess that's what they want. People who know nothing.
I seriously am trying to have them delete my acct and thy won't it's starting to piss me off I think I should just go on a nasty comment spree
I just keep tagging the bitches in charge and lacing the comments with expletives. Hopefully they'll catch on..I'm disappointed in how long its taking though...
After seven years of useful exchange on The Knot, The Nest, and The Knot discussion boards, I would like to politely request that my account and all content associated with it (posts and replies) be deleted. It has become apparent with recent changes to guidelines that a far more liberal attitude is being taken toward user and content deletion. I valued this space as one that welcomed a free and open exchange of ideas. While I agree with attempting to eliminate truly abusive posts, recent actions by the moderators have extended well beyond this. As outlined in the TOU, respectful disagreement should be expected and accepted on these boards. Until recently, I interpreted that to mean disagreement not only with other posters, but with the policies of the boards themselves. As this sort of dissension is now grounds for banning users, I no longer feel that these boards are the kind of venues I wish to support through my participation.
Thank you for seven good years, but I would appreciate the prompt deletion of my account and content.
