What do you think of Serena nn Rena? I'm only 8 weeks and team green so lots of time to toss ideas around, but I THINK I'm loving this option.
I especially love Rena and would use it as a stand alone name, but hubby can't get on board with it.
Any ideas for middle names? I like the idea of using a middle name starting with C because then baby would have the same initials as her dad which I think is really cute.
Serena Christine Serena Carlene Serena Claire
All flow nicely (I think) with our last name which starts with S and ends in a long e sound.
I have an Aunt Serena so I do like it. I don't love the nn Rena though.
Do you have any other names you like? I personally associate the name with Italian names but I don't know if that is the route you are going for or not before I give suggestions.
This is one of those names that I love on paper but can't see myself ever using. I don't like the nn Rena because it makes me think "renal." That being said, I really do like Serena Claire, but only if you call her Serena.
I don't like Serena at all. Or Sabrina. I don't know why, but I find those names extremely obnoxious. However, I absolutely adore Sabina and Severina. I like Christine a lot, and Claire is fine, but Carlene is hideous. Other C mns: Clara Clio Camellia Carys Chloe Cosima Cybele Cressida Charlotte Corinna Corinne Catriona

My daughter's name is Serena. Her nickname given to her by one of her brothers is Seri (sounds like Suri Cruise). I don't like Rena as a nickname. I like Serena Claire.
I like Serena. Dislike Rena. Also I think it only sounds good with Claire of your mn options, the others have too much "een".
I also question if it sounds ok with your last name if that also has an S beginning and an "ee" sound, but without knowing your last name you'll have to make that call.
I love Serena and I like Rena has a nickname. I'm actually surprised people dislike the nickname so much. I agree with DanaScullyX, a one syllable middle would sound best.
