Oh! I was just thinking about someone this morning. I think bantyrooster? Husband quit his job to train to be a police officer? (sorry if I have the wrong person). Just wondering how that was going?

Not me! My H is a project manager for an engineering firm.

Not team green!! I'm 17w today and I'll find out in about four weeks. Feels like an eternity away though! We're just waiting on warm weather for the house to start. Stupid IL winter!
ETA Just left my 16 week appointment and she's moving me up so I'm closer to 20w - Feb 27!
Yep it's my H! He is currently in the process for LAPD and a smaller town near us as well. He passed the written for the smaller town 2 weeks ago and takes the physical on Tuesday. Then the week after that he has all the LAPD testing. It's. 4 day process; if he passes that day, he moves on to the next day. It's finally getting close!
cbear - He's doing great! He's completely better. Right now we are just trying to play catch up with his weight since he essentially lost 3 weeks of weight gain. He was 8lbs, 11oz when he went into the hospital and he was measuring just 9lbs 3 weeks later. So he's gaining, but he's just a bit behind on where he should be at this point. He has his 2 month appt on Friday so I'm hoping he's at least 10 lbs. We've also been dealing with a bit of reflux, so I'm sure that isn't helping the situation much either.
He's also just about done with his club foot cast. We luckily avoided a heel clip (they clip the heel tendon to lengthen it) since his foot is right where it should be. He gets his brace on Monday that he will have to wear until he's about 9 months old.
mrsrek10 are you feeling better? I sure hope so--it seems like you've been dealt a crappy hand this sick season.
cbear have you settled back into work and the switch to PT? Sounds like you have a good thing going
Thanks for thinking of me! I am feeling better! I have caught a lot this season but I think it is because I have upped my consulting time in schools. I spend a lot of time in elementary and middle schools now that I haven't done in a few years.. so it is like my 1st year of teaching when I caught every germ that came by me. Thankfully, if it is like the 1st year of teaching (or daycare for kids), my immune system should be tougher again soon. The bad part now versus when I taught is that I bring germs home to my kid and husband. When I was a single teacher, being sick meant getting to just lay around until I felt better! It is definitely much harder now because I have to take care of the others I infect in my house. Plus, we keep re-sharing things too! But, we all seem on the mend **knocks on wood**

@traceyt or maybe it was @jennm , I'm terrible with names too. I'm so sorry! How are things with your SS? Are things any better? I know it was getting really stressful there a while back and I wondered if it was any better.

That was jennmm... yes, how are things? I hope things are looking up.

origamimommy - i saw you said on FB that Magic Mike made you go into labor. I wasn't around when we were having our babies, so I'd love to hear that story.
He is currently doing a little better. DH was unable to find anything residential for him. Most programs in our area are for 16-18 and he's 15. He is seeing another therapist who changed his meds again. His grades have improved slightly and his behavior has been more positive for now. Hopefully it will stay that way, but he has patterns of behavior that change so much, who know. I was very clear with DH about what I will not allow the younger kids to be exposed to and what the consequences would be. He was mad at me but he sees my point. So, right now, things are calm and clicking along. Not sure how long it will stay that way but worrying about something that hasn't happened yet isn't going to do me any good.

I'm so glad things are going better for everyone right now jennmm. I just hope it stays that way! And I also get the "waiting for the other shoe to drop" feeling. Hang in there!

Oh jennmm I'm glad that things are smooth for you right now. I imagine it's been hard to stick to your guns with your H about this topic, but I'm so glad you did. At least in the future when he is 16+ you do have some other options should you need them.
jennmm, as hard as it has been for you, I'm glad that things are at least stable right now. It still sucks that you have to deal with all of it, and that the programs your H found won't work for awhile still. But like xanthe said, at least you know there are options for the future if things get bad again (once he's old enough).
I hope things continue to maintain, and hopefully improve further! Thinking of you and your family.

jennmm I'm glad things have stabilized a bit. Hopefully he can stay on this course at least until he's old enough for one of the programs. I'm really glad YH is siding with you, too!
origamimommy - i saw you said on FB that Magic Mike made you go into labor. I wasn't around when we were having our babies, so I'd love to hear that story.
So I woke up on Friday morning, had bloody show, non painful contractions, etc. I ended up spilling my entire breakfast in my purse, cried for twenty minutes (I was at a restaurant), and that's when I knew he was coming soon. By soon, I thought Sunday, his due date. I am a June baby, H is August, so I thought, naturally, that T would be a July baby. Anyway, I was due July 1st and convinced that he would come exactly on his due date. I knew most babies don't, but I had a huge feeling that he would be July 1 or 2, so I thought, my body's getting ready, it's happening. Contractions stopped around noon, which made me feel even more that he would be a due date baby. That night was my last girl's night before baby. I went with my BFF to Johnny Rockets and to see Magic Mike. We were so pumped for Magic Mike. I ate the biggest, greasiest burger ever and was so glad my fat ass would soon be snuggled in my bed, regretting that choice, but whatever.
So, we get to the movie theater and there was a complete mob. I think the movie started around 9-9:30, but while we were waiting it was seriously insane. You would have thought that Channing Tatum was actually in the fucking theater. They kept walking by with half-naked pictures of him to get all these women all super pumped and my contractions started again around 8:30 in the waiting area. I was walking around, ended up in the bathroom straddling a public toilet backwards to get through one, but it was fine. We get seated and I felt fine, but literally the second the movie started, you see Channing Tatum's ass, and I had a huge contraction. I waited it out another 15 minutes but I knew it was time. So we left the theater around ten.
My friend drove my car home, we called the OB who told us to get in asap, and the three of us (me, best friend, husband) left. When we got to the hospital, the Derecho storm happened, and all the power went out. It was lovely. I had to walk the halls with an alarm going off and strobe lighting across the whole fucking floor. I was screaming, puking, and having awful diarrhea (thanks, Johnny Rockets, and HI GINA!!). I finally got into a room around 1 or 2am, and Tyler's heart rate was really low. They had me get an epidural around 3 as a precaution to a c-section, but having the epi caused me to be able to breathe much better and his heart rate stabilized. He was born at 7:22am on June 30th.
Maybe more than you wanted to know, but that's my story!
