Hello everyone! How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable Almost 38w
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Tired, stressed out
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? Baby is breech, and since this is my 2nd breech kid they think its a narrow pelvis issue
Upcoming milestones or appointments? Tues for the last scan, and scheduling the c-section
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Anything that will make this kid flip sounds good to me!
And as always, bump/baby pics are encouraged!!
QOTW: Do you like to make a big deal of your birthday or do you prefer to celebrate quietly (or not at all)? Not really much celebration. DH usually gets me something chocolaty and DD draws me a picture I love it.

How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable Baby girl is 3 weeks old. Her EDD was actually today. She's doing well, but she's tiny.
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Really good. Hoping to start working out soon to get rid of the last 15 lbs.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? Trying to go through and figure out what to do with all the boy clothes since our family is complete and work on deep cleaning the house.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? Postpartum appt next week.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Not at the moment.
QOTW: Do you like to make a big deal of your birthday or do you prefer to celebrate quietly (or not at all)? Celebrate quietly unless I'm in the mood for a larger group.
A is 6 months and has 7 teeth, is sitting up and starting solids. So cute!! We began swim class. She still nurses however my 3 hours around the clock. My recent favorite picture.

Holy crap radiantly, seven teeth! M still has 0 teeth. He is 7 months old and oh so close to crawling. He also still usually nurses every 3 hours or so even though he loves solids.
I only participated for a few weeks over here, and not very regularly, but I'm hoping some of you grads can help me with something. I checked the pregnant > 35 board and there was no activity on it.
A little brief history. I had my first son November 2013 when I was just over 40. I am now expecting my second son in August, just before I turn 43. Both pregnancies were conceived naturally, and have been fairly uneventful. Due to insurance reasons, I am with a new practice now. They are telling me that because I am >40, I will need a weekly 30 minute heartbeat scan once I hit 36 weeks at the high risk doctor's in addition to my regular weekly appointment.
My question is - any other >40s out there that might have some experience with this?
I posted in the Grad thread b/c I didn't want to be insensitive and post a new thread with everyone TTC. If this is inappropriate, or if you can think of a better place to post this, please let me know.
73jewels - My OB told me that I will have a non-stress test every week, starting at 36 weeks. It will be right in the office, and not with a high-risk doctor, but they said they like to keep a close eye on things with mothers of advanced maternal age. I'm sure it's similar reasoning to what your OB does.
How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable 11 weeks today/fig
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Pregnancy wise, I feel great. However, my entire family has fallen victim to the stomach bug this weekend. DD2 was the first to get it on Friday and she's better and went to school today. The rest of us are home sick. DH and I got it the worst. I don't remember the last time I was so sick.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? I think we have a boy name picked out. If it's a girl, I think we might have a tough time agreeing on a name. Good thing we have plenty of time to think about it.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? Hoping to get all my bloodwork results this week, including the verifi results. It may not be until next week, but I'm crossing my fingers.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers?
And as always, bump/baby pics are encouraged!!
QOTW: Do you like to make a big deal of your birthday or do you prefer to celebrate quietly (or not at all)? I've never really made a big deal out of my birthday. Well, my 21st was a big deal, but that's about it.
Congratulations 73jewels, sounds like typical monitoring for us older ladies. I had non-stress and biophysical profile every week once I hit 34weeks with my lo (I was 41 when I delivered)
MissMusic , I'm so sorry about the position. That's frustrating. I've hard that manual repositioning is super painful. How is your daughter responding to the impending birth?
mom2boxers , glad that everything is going well with your peanut.
73jewels , congratulations on your pregnancy. I started weekly stress tests at 34 weeks. A nurse takes my pulse and monitors the baby's pulse for at least 20 minutes (more if the baby's position isn't ideal). Also, she measures amniotic fluid to make sure the baby is supported. It's all kind of relaxing. I could have taken a nap in the dim room with the baby's pulse sounding.

Things are fine here. I just hit 36 weeks and don't feel that the baby is ready right now. I started weekly non-stress tests and my first one was good. Luckily my body wasn't indicating any contractions. I've been looking at my son's newborn photos and reading up on how to prepare for a newborn. I feel like the whole experience is going to hit me hard, but we're lucky to have one of our mothers helping for the first month.
Sending love to all of my TTC > 35 ladies. You know I'm lurking and waiting for more BFPs. It's time for another round!
Thanks to those that replied... I guess I just found it odd since my last pregnancy was also 40+ and I had none of that. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there!
How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable? 18 wks, size of a Croissant
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Feeling great! Starting to feel some flutters which was weird at first but I'm growing to love them
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? Trying to pick out a color for the nursery, picking a paint color is always a project in and of itself. DH isn't one of those 'whatever you like, Dear' type of husbands, but we've learned a system that's worked for us (for the most part lol)
Upcoming milestones or appointments? MW appointment Thursday and A/S Monday
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? just for a good scan
QOTW: Do you like to make a big deal of your birthday or do you prefer to celebrate quietly (or not at all)? I like to have a big deal made of my birthday. I know it might sound AWish but I like having a party or going out to dinner with friends. Mostly, I like to use it as an excuse to socialize with people, after 30 everyone sort of hibernates and I miss getting together with friends.

Ha! I totally get the "reading up" part! I know we've been there before, but I feel like I need to refresh. Hopefully your NST's keep going well!
AFM, DD is very excited. She's a very loving child and is "gifting" all of her toys to baby #2. I'm sure she'll take some back, but she gave him her favorite stuffed toy and is adamant that he needs it more than her. I pretty much died.
I can't do a version on this kid because of the prior c-section. Even if I could, I would still opt out; the risks outweigh the benefits IMHO and it is not a guaranteed success. If the problem really is a narrow pelvis, this baby isn't coming out vaginally anyway. So frustrating
Hi all! ladystrat , I loved the Lego minifigure comparison, such a cute thing to picture.
How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable: 25 weeks, no cute comparisons this week!
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? Unbelievably, I'm still super sick with this. I cannot believe that it's going on for so long, at this stage everyone seems pretty convinced that this is just what it will be like for the rest of the pregnancy. Am absolutely exhausted. DH and LO are off to South Africa for two weeks in April (I'll be too far along to join them) and I've taken most of it off work to just lie around feeling pathetic. Am really struggling to push through to be honest.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? Finally feeling kicks regularly! It feels totally different to last time since I have an anterior placenta so it's been interesting. Such a relief to be able to finally feel something.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? 28 week appointment coming up.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Just for the strength to keep focussed on the good parts. Of course I'm grateful and feel incredibly lucky, but I'm just so tired.
And as always, bump/baby pics are encouraged!!
Ok then :-) It's funny, I had weekly bump pictures the first time around but this is only the 2nd one I've taken with this pregnancy - guess 2nd child syndrome is hitting already!
QOTW: Do you like to make a big deal of your birthday or do you prefer to celebrate quietly (or not at all)? I don't make a big deal but I do usually take off work and do something self-indulgent. And I get stroppy if DH forgets to do something. I kind of want everyone to start every conversation with me that day by saying 'Happy Birthday'. In a few years, it will be my 40th AND our 20 year dating anniversary (we had our first date on my 20th birthday) and I've been warning my DH for years that I expect something fabulous.
How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable 30w4d - cucumber How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? My pelvis still gets ouchy and I am frequently tired, but I feel pretty well overall.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? I hate my new OB office and can't change. I've had one visit there and didn't see the doctor until 2 hours past my scheduled appointment time. My appointment was at 9:45 and I didn't get called back to a room until 11:22. I told one person which lab I would need to go to and the MA brought a requisition form for a different lab. When I mentioned it she said, "Oh, it'll be okay." Um, no, it won't. I'm not doing anything until they give me the right lab form. Also, when I asked the doctor about a prescription for a breast pump he said, "Well, when you have MediCal..." MediCal is California's version of Medicaid. I have private insurance but I think the majority of their patients are on MediCal. He just told me we'd talk about it next time. I see the midwife at that office on Tuesday and I pray it's a better visit.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? Appointment at the horrible office on Tuesday.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Continued prayers for a healthy baby are always appreciated!
QOTW: Do you like to make a big deal of your birthday or do you prefer to celebrate quietly (or not at all)? I wouldn't like a huge party or anything but I do wish my family would make more of an effort to make my birthday special and not forget about it completely or still expect me to make dinner.
rnmommy - I've never ordered one, but I've heard of others filling out a form with a DME online and then they contact your doctor's office and coordinated with the insurance to get the pump paid for. I don't think they started with a script. I want to say you tell them what insurance you have and they'll tell you what pumps you can choose from that are covered.
Good luck at your next appt. Hope it goes better/more quickly.
flippinchica DD only had 4 teeth just coming in by her first birthday. She was a late teether and got her back teeth before all her front teeth came in.

That's my understanding as well but they weren't able to get the rx from the doctor. I asked about it again today and gave them some printed info from my insurance company. The office I go to sees 85% MediCal (California's Medicaid) patients so they don't know how to handle it. They've passed it along to someone in one of their other offices (that only takes private insurance), so hopefully they have everything all straightened out by my next appointment in 2 weeks. Today's appointment was much better. I was called back very quickly and finally got the correct lab slip but I let them know that everything went wrong last time. The NP I saw was really nice too. If today had gone as poorly as last time I'd have called the insurance company to see if I could go on base instead. I was relieved that it went well today.
How far along are you? Week/fruit or vegetable I am 35 weeks today and she is the size of a honeydew melon!
How are you feeling (physically and/or emotionally)? I am ok for the most part. I do get the random emotional breakdowns that come with end of PG, 3rd trimester hormones and discomfort and all the overwhelming feelings that come with it and not feeling ready. Ladies.......feel sorry for my H......seriously. LOL.
Other Updates? Thoughts, vents, baby preparations, etc? The room is almost ready. All furniture is put together and curtains hung, rug in place. I need wall decor....working on that. I also need to hang all her clothes that where given to me by my SIL. Half never worn by my niece so they are brand new most of them. Organize the stuff we do have. I haven't had my shower yet..........I know.....talk about last minute. We are having one thrown by my H's work this Friday. I have one on the 10th being thrown by my sister in laws that will include my sisters in laws, girlfriends and some female family members......my all girls shower. And my MIL is throwing one that is coed that includes extended family and our coupled up friends. That is one of the things I get overwhelmed with and didn't want.......more than one shower but it wasn't up to me.
Upcoming milestones or appointments? I always have 3-4 appts a week. Yeah being high risk!!! not. This week i am lucky and only had 2 though! My second NST is this friday. After that i go to weekly appts.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Nothing is of concern at the moment.......for a change. I could use some prayer that my Dr may still let me attempt a VBAC.......I heard conflicting stuff from hospital staff. I couldn't get records from my daughters c-section birth 19 years ago as they were destroyed. They don't keep them that long. I will be having the discussion with my Dr on the 5th. REALLY wanting a trial of labor.
And as always, bump/baby pics are encouraged!! posting below!
QOTW: Do you like to make a big deal of your birthday or do you prefer to celebrate quietly (or not at all)? Im good with any. lol. I love celebrating with friends but don't feel the need to make a big deal of it. Though this year they are talking its my 40th so I think something will likely be planned.
ok this is one from one of my maternity Boudior sessions....Its going into my album for sure so I feel ok sharing it. If it wasn't one of my pics it would be wrong of me to save it as I haven't seen all the images, but this one is a keeper! Its one of the near peeks my photog sent me! I had to do a little photo censoring for the board as the lace is see through on the bewbies and you all don't want to see my nips. lol
Hey ladies. It's been several weeks since I checked in but we are here and well.
Pearson is almost 10 months old. I can hardly believe it. He crawls and climbs like a boss, can stand on his own for short times, and is about to take off walking any day now. Still doesn't sleep well but gives us a couple of nights each week where he only wakes up once. He says mama and dada but not necessarily as ID of us. Teething is a huge drama for him. He only has two teeth but the top are about to break through so he is miserable right now. Overall he is just an amazing happy little guy.
Here are a couple of recent pictures.
QOTW: I'm not really into my own birthday and never expect to do much. Even more so now that P's is two days later. I'll be in planning mode for his every year now.
