I love gifts but I hate getting them for other people (only bc of the pressure of getting something they like, I'm horrible at it. If it was easier for me I would buy all the gifts for everyone) so I would rather not get a gift so I don't have to get one.
Coffee smells good but tastes disgusting; beer tastes AND smells disgusting. Wine is decent, certain herbal teas are good (or straight tea with honey and lemon). Hot chocolate is awesome
P.S.: People always tell me you need to drink beer/coffee enough to develop a taste for it. I always think, "But why would I want to?"
I don't like coffee, beer or wine. I don't believe that one should have to acquire a taste for something delicious. It's either delicious or its gross. Continually exposure until you can tolerate something doesn't make it good.
But "good" is subjective. And if your taste for something changes, then it can become good to that person. And I was not saying anyone has to do anything. Just sharing my experience and pointing out that tastes can change.
Agree! I love all sorts of things (food and drinks) now that I didn't used to. Once I couldn't imagine drinking coffee without all sorts of cream and sugar in it! And now, while I still prefer a little cream, I'll drink black coffee vs no coffee.
Not to mention all the other veggies and stuff I didn't like as a kid. Or when I wouldn't touch a pickled jalapeno with a 10 foot pole and now I can't get enough of them! Or anything spicy!! Give me all the spiciness!!!!
Add me to the disliking of wine. Also I was so glad when I got to work at home again so that I didn't have to put all those toxic chemicals in makeup on my face every day anymore.
I hate that line of jewelry called open hearts. Fugly to me. Oh and pandora bracelets. Gag.
I HATE the open hearts, so ugly. I have a Pandora and about half a dozen charms. I like it because my MIL got it for me, and I like getting charms that symbolize important things (my kids, our wedding, etc) but I don't wear it. I actually think they're kind of ugly to wear, and I don't like wearing bracelets in general. They pinch my arm hair and clank on desks, tables, etc.
I just got a Keurig but I don't like coffee. I need caffeine in the morning but don't want pop or energy drinks. I am trying to find a Kcup that is good enough (ie, flavored enough to not really taste like coffee, or much like it) so I don't have to add a ton of cream and sugar. I've tried about 6 different kinds, but so far they all taste like vanilla, or caramel....and coffee.
I used to have two full pandora bracelets. I love the way they clank when you shake your wrist or sitting at a desk. However, I did downsize them and sold one full bracelet (bought lo's furniture for his nursery). FTR I never wear them either. Messed up.
It would be a HUGE struggle to give up soda. Huge. lol
It's Pop in MI too!
I still say pop and I moved down south over 10 years ago. Everyone looks at me like I'm nuts and says things like "you mean soda?" but idgaf. Haha. And don't get me started on the pronunciation of the words pecan and crayon.
I grew up with it being pop or soda. But someone told me there are some places where it's all just called coke. That's weird to me.
Here- so annoying. I'll say " diet coke or (diet) Pepsi please" and they'll be all "diet coke" and then I get Pepsi. It's a stupid pet peeve.
My uncle was born and raised Atlanta home of the "Coke Cola" everything is coke. He married a Michigander and so he has to suffer our "accents" often.
ETA: I love the idea that the USA has different accents, customs, traditions, lingo. It's what makes traveling unique and fun right in our own country!
