I hope this helps. I sometimes feel like it's hard to weigh in on randoms because my days are a lot of the same.
Today we're heading to the mall. DD's glasses broke and I need to get them fixed. These are the worst glasses ever and I want to replace them but she has an eye exam next month and I want to make sure her prescription hasn't changed. So now I have to shell out some money to fix these for the next few weeks. Grrr. Also, looking for some spring clothes even though there's snow on the ground today. Come on April! Get it together!
Today we're celebrating DS2's 2nd birthday! After today I'll have to start getting ready for baby #3. 9 weeks left and I haven't done anything! Including moving the boys into the same room.
I need summer maternity clothes! I have Old Navy cash, just need to sit down and browse. Any recommendations or favorites?
I don't know if it was the timing of people getting busier or the switch to weekly randoms, but it feels like doing less frequent randoms hurts more than helps. I know they "cover" the same period of time, but I know I am less likely to post in it daily or even close to daily when it is the same thread and my life isn't that exciting.

I also feel like my life isn't too exciting lately.
Random question but when should I start looking at doing school of some sort for DD1? She just turned 2 but I've heard some people say 3 and I'm just not sure.
I didn't even see this. I'm not sure what the best way to randoms and chat is.
We saw the baby yesterday on the u/s and heard the heartbeat. Our tiny dancer was moving around so much they couldn't get the heartbeat for very long. The midwife let DD put the gel on my belly so she could try with the doppler (the one without the pictures). She ended up having to hold my uterus up because apparently it is retro-verted (probably TMI).

Both my kids started preschool right at 3. DD goes to preschool through our local school district due to a developmental delay. DS goes to a church preschool and he started this past September 2x a week. He has a Sept birthday so he's doing 3 years of preschool.
Check out the cutoff dates for your area. I think preschool a couple mornings a week is so great for them.

DH was supposed to work 6 hours this morning for overtime but they texted him yesterday afternoon (he had the day off for an appt of mine) & said they didn't need him to come in anymore. So the house got supercleaned today

Do you have any sort of early childhood classes in your area? In MN, it's called ECFE for birth to 5 year olds. They are parent/child classes with times where parents go to a different room for the toddler classes. We love them and I think it does a lot of good preparation for preschool.
ETA: DS1 will be almost 4 when he starts this fall. He's a November birthday and our cut off is 3 on or before September 1.

I just tried googling and didn't find anything like that in my area but it does look awesome, I wish we did. She's a March birthday so she will be 3.5 when she does start.

I wish all states had something for early childhood education! Maybe there are other school like programs in your area that could mimic school (time away from mom, walking in a line, listening to a teacher, interacting with peers, etc.)

It's so freaking cold. We have about an inch of snow but fading at least. I feel like I'm getting cabin fever but at the same time don't want to go anywhere. Lol

Honestly at 2, we weren't doing anything structured like school. We did storytimes & other local activities that I'd find for kids that age plus whatever I did at home. Here, DS started preschool through the school district at 3.
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been here much lately...things have been getting a little hectic lately. My sister is getting married at the end of the month, so I've been trying to get everything ready for that.

Oh no definitely not looking for structured right now, that sounds stressful haha I'm just wondering what the norm is and what to expect. I'll have to look and see if our district does anything.
ashiscute, sorry about the glasses, that's a bummer vettymama, happy 2nd bday! Hope you find some cute clothes! namastebiotches, so jealous your house got cleaned so well! @auri, how fun! younglove316, DD will be 3 in November and will be starting nursery school 2 days a week for half a day. Right now we're just doing gymnastics, story time, and music class. This summer she will do summer camp to prepare for nursery school.
I'm with forevermorgan, pretty boring around here but still super busy with all our activities. Still a single mom until DH finally comes home at the end of the month.

We had a pretty rough night of sleep, DD2 just didn't want me to get much sleep I guess. I really hope she naps well today or the day may suck. I'm debating if I want to do relaxing activities around the house or try to get us out.
DS slept terribly last night, I think our longest stretch was 2 hours.
I need to get out alone to do some shopping. We are doing family pictures in the beginning of may, and I have nothing cute to wear.
younglove316 - my DD is 2.5 and is not doing school of any kind. We do 2 story times a week, and I hope to start working on letters with her soon.
She knows her shapes, colors, can count to 10, and sing the alphabet. Due to her birthday and local cut off rules, she will only get 1 year of prek, starting at almost 4. She will be going into K shortly before her 5th birthday.

I know with our cutoff they have to be 5 within so long after they would start and even then you can opt to wait. Her birthday is in March though so she won't start until almost 5.5. We do work on letters, colors, shapes and things like that so I guess I'm good. Plus Super Why & Team Umizoomi provide some supplemental education

I have a busyish day. After ds is off to school, gonna continue to binge on Scandal (started it the other day with dh's coworker's Netflix login Lol) Then at 10 the library opens & today starts their book sale. I've been going each time to build ds' book collection (it's a few times a year) so gonna check that out & some DVDs for his TV in his playroom. Then more Scandal, speech with ds later this afternoon & after dinner is kindergarten orientation!! Woohooo!
Spring planting has started so the weekend is a like a normal weekday for myself and the boys since DH is in the field. We had a busy week so I hope they're content to hang out at home.
I have paperwork and laundry to catch up on and would like to get through clothes and move DS2's things into DS1's room. They slept in the same room last night and it went well!

Thursday night was kindergarten orientation!! They set it up pretty neat. The school DS goes to is the elementary school that houses the preschool/pre-k to 2nd grade so he'll be in the same building. The night started with getting paired with a 2nd grader that gave a tour. It was cute! (even though we didn't really need one) After that, parents & kids were separated! The kiddos went to the library for a story & craft while we went to the gym for a presentation. DS had a blast by the looks of it. After the presentation by the principal & the 4 kindergarten teachers, whoever did the library thing walked the kids to the cafeteria for a snack. DS was so cute in line with his buddies that he knows from school. Totally didn't even glance at us while we were waving to him lololol kindergarten is going to be such an easy transition, I'm so excited for him!

DH is doing overtime this morning. He gets out at noon so it's not too bad of a day. DS has been doing good & I'm on my second episode of Scandal today. Yesterday Dh came home with an amazon firestick, he swung by best buy on his way home from work. He was feeling bad about my setup with my Chromebook attached to the tv with the HDMI cord LOL I'm a cheapskate & he totally justified it by saying it'll last a whole lot longer than flowers. Hahah he's cute & it is SO much easier today with pausing
I was cleaning the bathroom (and TCFing), when LO came in and asked what we were doing next. I had him throw the towels downstairs as we would be doing laundry next. I also said we would get his sheets to wash too. He came back pushing a laundry basket filled with his bedding. Awesome work, kid!
