We are hoping to get away for a night while visiting my family in July (the only people in our lives who volunteer to babysit, and who live 1500 miles away.) We hope to go stay at the B&B in Mystic, CT where we stayed for our wedding weekend nearly 4 years ago! It will be our first time back there.
Well it's not exactly a baby moon more like a 5th anniversary trip, but we will be visiting family in May and hope to take a few days away and leave the toddler with my parents. Nothing fancy.
So yeah we would like to take one, although it's sort of a mixed purpose thing. We've spent the past year living with my ILs and pouring every dime we have into our home renovation and didn't have a chance to get away before getting pregnant, so it's sort of a babymoon/last years trip we didn't get to take.
So many places to consider, but I'm thinking up to one week probably late July/first week of August.
We haven't really talked about it but maybe we'll go up north (Michigan) for a weekend. Traverse City or Mackinac Island would be fun.
I love Traverse City! My BIL was stationed there when I was in college and I spent a summer with my sister and the family so much fun. We never made it to Mackinac island but it's on my list.
We don't have anything official planned; we may do a long weekend or something along those lines at some point, but this summer is already booking up with family travel and some big conferences, etc. with my H's job, and then fall/football season is always crazy. We do lots of weekends in Charleston, both with and without DS, bc my sister and BIL live there.
We did an Ireland trip in October knowing we would likely TTC this year so that was kind of our 'last hurrah' for a bit
We went to the beach for a weekend when I was pregnant with L. Between moving, DH's summer training, and our summer trip to see my ILs in CO we won't have time or money to do anything this time.
LizInFL - I envy your Ireland trip. My passport had actually expired, which makes me extremely sad. I used to travel internationally for work nearly every month, and in college I spent one entire year out of the US. My travel bug itches chronically.

Our 5 year anniversary is on July 2nd, so we're taking a taking a few days and doing a long weekend trip somewhere. We haven't decided where yet. Maybe up to Vancouver or over to Idaho. Or one of the islands again since we're leaving both the kid and the dog with family so we don't have to worry about a non sleeping kid and a runaway dog.
LizInFL, I love Ireland! We went there for our honeymoon, it was amazing!
calindi you reminded me my passport is expiring this month! With a husband who is AD military, I really need to keep it up-to-date. Oops.
jubilantsquirrel your honeymoon must've been awesome! We loved it and would definitely go back. We were there a week and traveled around/saw quite a bit, but I feel like we barely scraped the surface.

Yes! We were there for 10 days and spent time in Cork, Kilkenny and Dublin. Plus day trips to various little towns. There's so much to see there! I'd love to go back and explore different areas.
jubilantsquirrel fun! We did not make it to Cork and that's definitely on our to-do list for a future trip. We did Dublin, Kilkenny, Killarney, and Limerick (stayed there mostly to travel to Cliffs of Moher, etc). I would love to see Northern Ireland, as well.

My husband is AD too and we are expecting orders next summer for PCS. I really need to renew mine and get one for both DS and the soon-to-be baby at the end of the year just in case.

We haven't discussed it but we did two bigger vacations this past year - Oregon in September and Mexico in January. Maybe we will do a weekend away alone in the early fall somewhere driving distance, but nothing crazy.
Last time we went to San Diego for a wedding and extended it a few days, but so did our friends so it wasn't much of a couples trip.
Honestly right now I don't see us doing anything. Especially nothing big. It's possible we will end up driving to VA to visit my brother who is stationed there. We would probably be doing that regardless though. Will just have to see!
With DS we did a four day trip to Chicago and stayed in a fanceh hotel as a planned babymoon. I was 20 weeks and it was absolutely amazing. We then ended up doing a pretty random, impromptu second "babymoon" in Indianapolis when I was 32.5 weeks and we flew out there to see the Pats ruin play the Colts in SNF.
This time we will not do anything nearly as extravagant, but a law school friend is getting married in Asheville in August, and LO is not invited, so DH and I are looking at that trip as the most likely candidate for a babymoon since my ILs will be babysitting anyway, and we can just add an extra day or two around the wedding events to spend just the two of us.
We have a bunch of other weekend trips planned this year (Philly, D.C., Nashville), but baby boy is coming with us on all of those so not really a babymoon!

H and I were just talking about this. I would like to go somewhere! A beach in the Caribbean would be my first choice if it wasn't for the Zika outbreak. I am not sure what my company's policy on using leave when you're taking maternity leave in the same year. When I go public at work I'm going to find out more information. I know you are required to use some sick or vacation days.
We're not planning on anything yet. DH likes to save his PTO so he can take a week off after baby is born. We'll probably have one or two overnights sans toddler but nothing big.
My in-laws are going to Maine for a week this fall and we went last year. I'd love to go this year too but I highly doubt we will.

For the first (successful) pregnancy, we did a gestation vacation in Aruba. This time, I have had my eye on Folly Beach, SC -- with some day trips to Charleston and Kiawah Island. We just need to get through this rough spot in the pregnancy, then we can start planning it.
