I had an appt this morning. I am 5 wks today! Still only a seed, an apple seed. But the tech saw the gestational sac clearly in the uterus plus a yolk sac!! It was hard to see the fetal pole but I think she got glimpses. I am happy that the yolk sac is visible because now I can stop going every 2 days. I think my RE will have me in weekly until I graduate at 12 weeks.
***Loss Mentioned*** It was a rough morning. I was put in the same ultra sound room that I found out last year the baby had not grown. It was the only time I found out I was miscarrying before actually miscarrying (I've had all natural miscarriages). I didn't realize until the tech took too long to get there and then, as is my custom, water works. ***END***

Sorry littlelion. I know I'm going to have a hard time as well with my appointment. I knew as soon as I saw the screen since it didn't look the same as my son did at eight weeks. SO HAPPY you had a great scan and hopefully you'll just make some really awesome memories in that room to balance out the sad ones a bit.

I have to talk for literally five seconds before other people give an hour-long presentation and I am nervous for no apparent reason. Blech. Like all I have to say is "Here they are!"

Good luck! Public speaking makes me tongue tied. Even just in a conference room with my coworkers.

littlelion, yay for a yolk sac and had a good scan!!!
I can totally relate to your feelings. I had my most recent IUI in the ultrasound room where I found out about my miscarriage. I was CONVINCED it was a bad omen and started freaking out in my head. Obviously the IUI was successful, so it was all for nothing. I'm having my first ultrasound at a different office next week and I'm happy about that.

mrsp121308, YAY I'm glad that they gave you the progesterone. Is that the reasoning for the frequent u/s's? Maybe I missed that part. With my rainbow, I was able to first get one at 6 weeks and this time he doesn't want to see me until 8... so I'm really struggling during this wait.
I'm really craving some pasta.... bad. I could go for something like this, garlic butter pasta.... mmm... get in my belly.

hmr11913 yes, with low progesterone I do the supplements until 12 weeks and I also get an u/s every other week until then. Which is really only like 2 extras, but I'll take it.

Just curious...how did you find out about the CMV?

My PCP ordered the test in my initial labs when I saw her Tuesday. She said it was something she wanted to test for since I work with children. I feel naive asking, but is it not something that is commonly tested?
