Question for everyone - is anyone considering an early elective ultrasound? We did the 3D/4D with my son at 26 weeks and were planning on doing that again. But we got a flyer in the mail for another place and they have packages for gender confirmation at 14 weeks. I had no idea they did them that early. My husband is very intrigued as he wants to know like right now what it is. I'm on the fence. The package is $40 bucks more to do one at 14 weeks and another one later. So it's not ridiculous money wise over what we were already planning. I did some research and it does sound like most elective ultrasound places do them at 14 weeks with accuracy. Not sure, we'll need to think through a it more.
We haven't done an elective ultrasound, but at our NT scan last time (at 12 weeks exactly, I believe), the tech said she had a good idea of the baby's sex and asked if we wanted to know. She said she was fairly positive it was a girl, and she turned out to be right. If you get a tech who is well versed in reading "the angle of the dangle" you could probably feel pretty secure in the outcome.
Laughing so hard at "angle of the dangle"... Literally giggle snorted out loud. I have my NT scan at exactly 12 weeks with a MFM at the hospital, I'm going to ask! I hope they don't think I'm crazy lol
What symptoms are you having? Tired, food aversions, random cravings, nausea/puking
Do you have any appointments this week? Friday morning....nervous already
Rants/Raves/Randoms? House hunting sucks. Also, anxiety is really ramping up as I get closer to Friday's appointment. It's been 5 weeks since my last one and I'm imagining all these horrible scenarios.
QOTW - are you planning a nursery theme? I picked out the theme months ago. It's going to be forest animals/foxes. For a girl I'll add in purple accents and for a boy I'm thinking dark blues and greens.
ClassyMrsA I feel you on the house hunting stress! I am so sick of open houses. It was so fun in the beginning. We have been looking for the last 4 months and are having a hard time finding something that fits our needs. Our closing date is 6/1 so it looks like we will be packing our stuff and moving it into storage and crashing with family. Should be great fun doing it with a two year old (and pregnant!). Wishing you guys luck!!!

How many weeks are you? 11w 3d
What is your baby the size of? Brussel Sprout
What symptoms are you having? Nausea, major bloat and fatigue.
Do you have any appointments this week? I had my first appointment today. Heard the HB which was reassuring. Our 12 week ultrasound is next Thursday. I'm hoping that helps my anxiety and it starts to feels more "real".
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm having a hard time keeping up on the board. I'll read posts the next day and then I'll feel all awkward replying/commenting. I feel like it's a great support system so I want to start participating more.
QOTW - are you planning a nursery theme? No yet. DS has an around the world theme nursery but he was in our room for the first year so I am figuring it will be the same. I am contemplating doing a side-car crib this time around. Anyone do this? Safety issues? DS was mostly in a rock and play for the first six months and then cosleeping.

Obviously we'd love to have you participate more! But to the bolded, I would say not to worry about jumping in late. I probably shouldn't try to speak for everyone here, but at least from my perspective, the board can be a bit slow some days so I wouldn't mind if you wanted to keep a previous conversation going

We put an offer in on a house today, but we aren't feeling hopeful at this point. They countered, but based on the comps we are sticking to our original offer. DH feels like it's over. I think there's a chance still, just not a good one. Luckily, we don't have to move until the end of summer so we have a couple more months to look. I hope you can find something soon. It's such an unpleasant process and dealing with possibly putting things in storage and staying with family makes it that much harder I imagine.

How many weeks are you? 11
What is your baby the size of? Lime or poker chip
What symptoms are you having? My nausea seems to be getting better but still hits me when I think about food. Once I actually eat, I feel better.
Do you have any appointments this week? Nope
Rants/Raves/Randoms? If I don't find the heartbeat on the doppler this week, I think I'm going to call my midwife and ask to come in for a quick check. My appointments are off a little because I was released from the RE at 8 weeks and had my first appt at 10. Next one isn't until 14. I want to start telling extended family and coworkers but really want to make sure baby is healthy.
QOTW - are you planning a nursery theme? I've been looking at ideas and I really like transportation (especially vintage) or cute animals. I'll have to run them by H at some point and see what he thinks.

legitlizard They are refusing to come down, but aren't rejecting us officially yet. So basically it's off the table, but if they decide later to accept they can and if we want to withdraw it or move on we can. Essentially, they want to see if someone is willing to give them more and we are going to keep looking. Not surprising, but bleh. Square 1 again.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Have I told y'all I'm tired of pink eye?
QOTW - are you planning a nursery theme? If it's a girl, we'll keep the butterfly theme we currently have for DD. If it's a boy, I have no idea. I don't even want to start planning until after my anatomy scan.
This is kind of me, as well. It's so weird b/c I'm typically a 'planner', but I was kind of the same way with B. Didn't think about a nursery or names much until we knew the sex for sure.

How many weeks are you? 10 weeks
What is your baby the size of? Prune
What symptoms are you having? Um, hard to tell right now with everything else going on, haha.
Do you have any appointments this week? Just hanging out at the hospital, but hopefully I get to go home tomorrow!
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Nothing today.
QOTW - are you planning a nursery theme? Just a color theme for a girl, one that works with some of the stuff we used for our son. I might change up a few things if it's another boy.
Question that I don't know where to ask. Hot tubs are a no go because of how quickly they can raise your core body temperature, but what's the board's feels on just a regular bath?
I take almost daily baths during pregnancy, due to interstitial cystitis and the inability to take meds to control it. Sometimes more than one, if I'm having an IC flare. Totally fine, just listen to your body.
I know you've already taken one at this point, but just wanted to add more confirmation.
