There is a bird that lives outside my bedroom window and has started singing me the song of his people as soon as the sun comes up. Thoughts of slingshots and BB guns are dancing in my head.
I am telling my boss today that I am pregnant. I have been anxiously waiting for this day. Not in a bad way, I just have been worried that she'll find out via the grapevine, because after what happened last week, so many people know that I am pregnant. It could affect next year's schedule and class assignments, but after what happened last week, that doesn't really bother as much as it did two weeks ago.
Birds singing sounds glorious!!! Of course not if it prevents sleep :-)
I am loving our spring time weather right now!! We have a guy coming by the house tonight to measure for kitchen cabinets YES!
I can't wait to start being able to share and not have to hide this! After our NT scan on Monday is when we'll start sharing more openly. I hope your boss takes it very well peanutmuse !!
Not much on our agenda today. DS has speech in a bit and I should probably do some grocery shopping, the cupboard is rather bare in terms of meal stuff (but if you want carb-y snacks, I'm your girl!)
kleigh so exciting about the new cabinets! Are y'all changing the layout or just replacing existing? We are planning to have ours painted white/off-white this summer and I can't wait.
We are having breakfast before going to the gym and Target. I need some better mosquito repellent. I put on regular spray last night and still got 3 bites!! I'm going to get the kind consumer reports says is the best. Might get 2 or 3 kinds to see what works best for me. We also need to treat the yard.
Here's DD having breakfast in her favorite spot in the window. I think we will need to put in a window seat for her at our new house (if we ever actually buy one).

Morning ladies! I haven't been around this weekend because we were so busy. The good news is that we picked out all our tile for our bathroom and we're really close to deciding on a vanity. I can't wait to get that bathroom done!!
Yesterday we went to a bowling event to raise money for my SIL's good friend. She has been fighting cancer and has had to go through treatments multiple times. They were able to raise over $10,000 for her yesterday!! So amazing. And we won a silent auction for getting our air ducts cleaned. We've been wanting to do it for a while now so at least the money went to a good cause!
sophiegrace I won't let H open our windows at night because I told him the birds are ridiculous early in the morning. He sleeps through it but it wakes me up. It sounds like there's a million birds out there.
LizInFL Yeah we redid our whole house (changed the whole floor plan) so the kitchen layout and cabinets are a completely new project. I wish we could've salvaged the old ones but they were the originals from 1950s when the house was built. Our friends are doing a refacing/painting on theirs and I think they said it'll be about $1,500 - we're in CT.
goldenlove3 Thst sounds like a wonderful weekend!!! That's amazing they raised that much!

Thanks, ladies. I'm just hoping that now, after we've told everyone, we don't end up having to untell. It would be one of the most devastating things I've ever gone through, at this point. (And that's saying something, because we've now had four pregnancy losses.) I am still quite nervous.

How many weeks are you? How much longer til you hit 2T? Also, this is totally just my opinion, but I feel like since you made it this far, you absolutely will make it safely though the rest!!
I am kicking myself today. I way procrastinated on prepping for a class I am teaching tomorrow for some of my managers because Ive done it so much. The thing is I haven't done it for like a year. And all the stuff I thought I remembered...I don't so much. It's going to be a long day.
Day one of trying to get work done remotely out of my parents' house is underway and going decently well so far. Except for the last 10 minutes when my mom came in and ranted about politics and extremists to me lol.
DS is napping going on 2+ hours at the moment. I'm so jealous because normally on the weekends I nap when he naps. Today feels like the weekend because I'm not in the office, but that's a dirty deception.
+3 on wanting a nap. I put DS down for his nap a bit ago and I really need to do housework but the siren song of the bed is strong.
Also, I still have no clue what we are going to eat for dinner this week. Normally Monday is chicken caesar salad night (b/c it seems low-cal after a weekend of food indulgence...ha, I know it's really not, but allow me to live in fantasy world a bit longer). But salad is not so appealing ATM. Hmmm.

hangry, 10w4d. So, depending on which trimester breakdown you use, it's either 1w3d or 2w6d. I tend to use developmental trimesters because that makes more sense to me than an arbitrary 3 way split for no reason other than to have 3 completely even trimesters. So... 1 w3d?
It's not like that's a completely safe date, though, anyway. I will still be nervous for a while, I am sure.

True, never completely safe, but statistics are very low for loss after that point. Might be helpful to focus on the positive rates rather than the negative. Hugs fellow loss mama

hangry, believe me, I am absolutely a focus on the positive person. Always. But I think that with all of the trauma I have had, it's going to be a while before I feel secure. And I am allowing myself to feel what I need to feel, rather than trying to squash it.

peanutmuse - I can totally relate to the fear. One day at a time, one week at a time. I hope it went OK telling your boss today! Ugh today has been my worst day of nausea by far this whole pregnancy. I'm 10w4d- isn't this supposed to be getting better?! This pregnancy has just been so different from the last two.

shedreamsincolor I remember thinking the same thing around 10 weeks! It was getting really bad. Luckily it did get better for me so hopefully you get some relief very soon!

and you totally should! I was reflecting about my comment since last night and thought that it may have come off he wrong way. I was just trying to provide some light in what sounded like a darker time. Yes, please, feel your feeling and have concerns. I know on the whole how happy you are to be here.

Sooo I need to turn my text preview off... My friend text me "what fruit are we going on?!" And my coworker saw it. (Not out at work yet) and she said what does what mean? And I said I'm trying to eat more fruit so I'm trying a new one every day. Today was an orange. (Impressed with myself that I came up with that) and she said oh I thought it was like when you are pregnant and you compare the baby to a fruit. Uhh nope! Not like that at all! ...I think I played it off... I hope
starbuck27, how was your crop this year? I guess MA grows some peaches (not like Georgia) but this year due to the mild winter and spring-like weather followed by a week of below 0 temps and snow, the peaches will not be growing in MA.

I slept weird and now my neck and shoulder hurt.
Tomorrow is our senior manager's birthday and we are having a big party for her. She's in charge of 4 teams and each team picked 3 different dishes to order from the best Chinese place in town.
There's going to be a huge variety of food, but I'm pissed. I really wanted fried rice with chicken and my team agreed on that as one of our dishes, but then the supervisor who is helping with the party said no to the fried rice because she'd rather get an actual dish versus a side dish. On the outside I was like "Oh. Yeah, that's fine" but on the inside I was like "Bitch, I want fried rice!".

I would order my own fried rice for delivery. I can't imagine all that food without fried rice to eat with it! I was raised that rice was something you had with Chinese!?! Maybe noodles but mostly rice. Those bastards

I believe each dish comes with some steamed rice, but it's not the same. I actually was considering just ordering my own friend rice tomorrow.

starbuck27 I've been craving peaches, too! We have our tiny Texas peaches during the summer and they are sooo good! Now I want them even more.
ETA: We went to the store after house hunting and there was a small basket with peaches! They smelled amazing so I bought a few. We'll see if they taste as good as they smell tonight.
