I think possibly... We still have a lot of puke happening, but some days are worse than others. She wasn't screaming when puking today. I'm still kind of waiting it out to see if she needs meds. Both of my boys had it bad.

The screaming before puking got bad this weekend so we went to the doctor today. I'm hoping it won't be as bad as my son was.
We're dealing with lots of puke and spitting up but no pain. I'm still a little concerned so I'll be talking to the doctor about it next week when we have her two month appointment.

This is us too. Her 1 month appointment is next week so I'll be asking. She's gaining weight like mad though so I'm guessing it's fine.
Im not sure, but guess I'd know by now? He spits up a little after almost every feeding but isn't a huge puker. Maybe thrown up twice? Both times were when he was super upset so I think it was stress.

Your gut would probably tell you it wasn't normal spit up by now. C screams for several minutes before she spits up every time and it happens many times a day. Spitting up a little after each feeding is normal as long as he isn't obviously uncomfortable.

Our doc said if there isn't pain, blood and the spit up is white (chunky/curdled is ok) then it's fine. If it's green or mucus-y or there is a lot of pain or blood to call. She went through a spit up phase but it didn't last long and now she just has it occasionally

I called the pedi today and left a message asking them to let me know if she needs to be seen or if they can just prescribe her something since I've had 2 other reflux babies before. They called me back and left another message saying to call the office back. So now I have to play the phone tag game. Ugh. Just tell me if I need to bring her in!

So frustrating! Hopefully they don't make you go in.

I ended up taking K in on Friday morning. Pedi gave her zantac. What a difference already! She's still spitting up a lot, puking a little bit, but she is much happier about it.

Glad it's helping! We are seeing the same results and it's such a relief.

Both of my babies have been dealing with reflux. Poor Aiden has gas pains mixed in. My pedi has Riley on the Similac Total Comfort and Aiden is on the Similac Advanced. Both babies were on a liquid medicine... I can't remember what it was... but now they're both on Prevacid and it seems to be helping. They still spit up some, but it doesn't seem like they hurt.

Ethan has been on Total Comfort since Thursday and its turning his BM's dark green and way more sludgie than they were on Enfamil Newborn... it seems like he's having a much more difficult time passing them than he was on the other formula. His gas is awful.. he crieds all the time and I can see he's in so much pain trying to get the gas out. Did the Advanced help with the gas? Poor little guy is so uncomfortable.

Yes, the poo seems to be dark green, but my pedi said that was normal. She said black is bad... that means there is blood, so watch for that. But dark green is normal. Aiden was the same way that you're describing for Ethan. I think the combination of the Prevacid and the Similac Advanced is what is working for him. He still passes gas (we call him Gasseous Maximous), but he screams a lot less. The pain isn't 100% gone, but instead of screaming EVERY time he toots, it's just once or twice a day now. Once we got him on the Prevacid, it was just trying to figure out what formula worked best for him with the medicine. I hope Ethan gets some relief soon!
carissa325 How is nursing going? Any better? Hope you've passed the hump!
Other than the fact that we can't get rid of the stupid nipple shield its going very well. We are also doing Zantac twice a day and it helps a lot. As long as I continue to limit dairy and spicy foods I think we will be good. She still spits up a LOT but no longer screams after every feed.
