At my appointment today, the midwife mentioned that my stomach skin is very dry. I'm awful at putting on lotion outside of my hands. Fortunately, I don't have stretch marks from DS, but she thought it would be a good idea to do something this time around for my skin, esp since I'm now living in a much drier part of the country. So does anyone have a recommendation for body lotion/oil to help prevent dry skin and stretch marks. Thanks!
I use the Burts Bees Mama Butter. Whether it will actually prevent stretch marks, who knows. I think that's really more genetics than anything. But I slather it on every day after showering, and it definitely helps with dry skin.

Thank you! Like you said willow, I know stretch marks are mostly hereditary so hopefully I won't get them, but my dry skin could use some help so I'll definitely go out and get something.
I am terrible at body lotioning, but then I found Nivea in shower body lotion. I LOVE it and for some reason it has been easier for me to remember to use it. My skin thanks me for it.
I just use plain old coconut oil. It smells soooo good.
Me too! I love coconut oil for everything. I have stretch marks from the first one and this one but I even got them when I had a growth spurt at 13. There is no way to prevent them. You're either lucky or not but the fade away a ton.
I was at a baby convention over the weekend and Earth Mama Angel Baby was there passing out tons of full-size samples. I was given two bottles of their Natural Stretch Oil and started putting it on every night right away. It smells really nice and relaxing and goes on light, and most of the time DH will rub it on for me so then it helps him be part of this whole process which is fun.
Depends on your body. I didn't get mine until after DD was born and everything was (trying) to spring back into place. Then I got them on my upper thighs and some on my tummy by my belly button (but they were never red....they appeared silver faded pretty quickly). They actually blended in so well, that MH didn't even notice them until things started growing this time around, and he thought that they were new. He was surprised to find that they actually happened 4+ years ago.
