Can someone humor me and look at some stuff I peed on?

I know my body is adjusting to the IUD coming out. I *know*. But I haven't had anything but some random light spotting since February, including when the IUD came out (that was even less than spotting. Like - TMI - one wipe of ever so slightly pink). So I have absolutely nothing to go on here to tell me where I am. Glow says I'll get my period next week, but that's just because when you don't get it when they expect based on previous cycles, they just bump it out a week.

My OPKs don't really make sense to me but I have EWCM today, so hopefully that means O? IDK.

I'm not like, freaking out. I'm just bored and annoyed that it doesn't make sense.

So what is it about the OPKs that doesn't make sense for you? Some stuff to consider is that not everyone catches their surge on them, but that if they're negative it doesn't mean you won't ovulate soon. They also can be positive but not guarantee ovulation, either. You can stock up on Wondfos so that you don't feel guilty blowing a ton of them.

I'm sorry for the cycle wonkiness that comes with birth control stopping, it is annoying although it will likely resolve itself fairly soon. :\

It can be hard to tell sometimes, for real. As dark or darker than the control line is what you're looking for.

It can be hard to tell sometimes, for real. As dark or darker than the control line is what you're looking for.

What a fucking dumb design. Like, I recognize that there are fancy ones that just give you a smiley face or whatever. But whatever assface decided it's cool to have people sitting here squinting deserves a swift kick in the butt.

Well. I'll be the voice of dissent.

I think the dye tests are superior to those flashing smile tests. The digitals are one step removed from what you're looking for and often don't reset after you get a "positive." It's like a black box where you have no idea what is really happening with your body.

The dye tests let you watch your surge build up then fade away, get close and maybe go back, etc. The data is right there in front of you.

I think you're doing this correctly - pee on one once/twice a day, take a picture after the time limit, let yourself know about obvious positives and negatives, and learn about your LH patterns during the cycle. I'm sorry that it's not "ZOMG POSITIVE" right now, but it might be later in your cycle or you might be learning that you don't get ZOMG POSITIVES and yours are more subtle.

As with anything, learning your body takes patience and time. You just came off birth control and all of this is new. Take a deep breath, understand that your first cycle or two are going to be somewhat mysterious, and do the best you can. No one becomes an expert overnight!

I do like the idea of seeing the pattern and how things change. I don't like trying to figure out if two stupid lines are the same color. That just seems needlessly frustrating. Give me numbers or something! Though that's obviously more involved than making a strip turn color, and I'm not really asking for that.

I didn't start using OPKs until a few months after stopping BC, so I can't speak to that. But I like to make a note of ones that are just about positive and if the next OPK I take either later the same day or the next day is lighter (usually it's significantly lighter for me), I would go back in and change the just about one to a positive in FF.

My advice?  Don't overthink it.  Maybe it's positive?  Okay, that's good enough.  Maybe tomorrow will be clearer.

OPKs are secondary signs anyway.  Temping - that's where the numbers are at!

As for the topic - I hardly EVER saw a "true" positive. I gave up on OPKs, but that's because my cycles are regular enough that I can usually estimate the FW. If I had unpredictable cycles or just came off of BC I'd probably rely on them more.

If you get a near-positive it certainly can't hurt to HIO

I have trouble reading them too, I blame my poor vision lol. And now I buy the smiley face digitals bc it's worth the money for me to not obsess and lose my mind lol
