Sorry to be an AW, but I have a feeling I'll be pretty radio silent for at least the next several days.
We had a doctor's appointment yesterday. They can't intervene until 38 weeks except in case of medical emergencies, which we have thankfully not had, but at yesterday's checkup the doctor said he'd like to get the babies out at the first available slot after 38 weeks has passed.
So, we'll be 38 weeks on Sunday and the first available c-section is Tuesday at 1:30 - we're booked! I had hoped for a vaginal delivery, but with a uterine measurement of over 50cm (that' as long as the tape measure was...I'm rougly 52-54cm), they're quite concerned about the chance of uterine rupture during labor. The doctor put his bet on VERY large babies...so we'll see what they tip the scales at.
We'll head down and stay with my mom on Sunday night, we have pre-op appointments on Monday at 8am with our doctor and nurses and at 2pm with the anesthesiologist. We'll check into the hospital at 11:30 on Tuesday and we'll be in surgery at 1:30!
AHHHH! I'm having babies in 4 days!!
Not sure how much time I'll have to jump on and update, but I'll do my best! For those I'm connected with on other social media, we're totally radio silent there until we get home on Friday because we've got some crazy people in our lives that we really don't need at the hospital, so mums the word.
You have all been so incredibly awesome and supportive of us through this whole crazy journey. Looking forward to introducing you to the boys!!
