Are the first two syllables of Andrew and Daniel too close?
My sister and I have similar beginnings and our mother always called us a combo of our names. I'm trying to avoid a similar situation but DH and I can't agree on anything but Daniel if this baby is a boy. Our first son is William.

Not too similar at all. But you will mess them up regardless. I call DS, DH, and our dog combo/mixed up names occasionally and they are nothing alike. It just happens.

I also don't think they sound alike at all. I was called by my sister's name occasionally, but I was also called by my brother's name and once or twice that I can remember I was called by my father's name. So I think it'll happen no matter what the names are.
