Went to the pediatrician today for Emmalyn's 2 month appointment. The doctor is concerned about her weight gain she's in the 2nd percentile. So time to pump and see what she is getting. Reweigh in 2 weeks. Really down want to start supplementing. (Baking lactation cookies ASAP)
Other issue is her neck, she always puts her head in this position inthe car seat and leans that way when worn or even laying down. So we need to do some stretching and get PT.
Im sorry sweetie. I hope she gets some good weight gain. Csn you do a weighed feeding with an LC? Keep in mind that pumping is not a very adequate way to see how much she gets. The best way is a weighed feeding.
Hugs! Second seeing an LC for the weighed feeding. Also for her head in the car seat, have you tried using a rolled up burp cloth or something to make it more straight when she sits? Our ped suggested that when she was super tiny bc it always made me nervous to have her head so far over.
arbe - what's her weight? Is she tracking on her curves for everything? She may just be petite. Since the percentiles are averages, there are going to be kids on both the low and high ends.
We had our 2 month check up too and my LO is in the 1st percentile but pedi isn't concerned because she's gaining weight steadily and maintaining her curve.
ETA: she gained 1 lb and 4 ozs since the 1 month check up.

May borrow a scale, dont have a LC and hospital group meets this Friday but i cant go.

Yes, she fights anything I put in there to straighten her head.
8lbs 6oz & 21in She was born in 10th percentile, last month 2nd percentile and now 1st.
I'll add she had crazy poops Friday when DD got a stomach bug and may have lost a little then.
Hmm - that doesn't seem like that much fluctuation. The first between birth and the 1 month check up is a drop but it could have been because of fluids or delivery. Weren't you induced?
My LO is 8lb8oz and 22 1/2 inches. She was on the 2nd percentile at 1 month check up and dropped back down to the 1st percentile for this one.

Hmm, pediatrician is just concerned. We'll see how 2 week reweigh goes. I think she looks good, just petite. I'm more concerned with her neck.
I'm obviously not a medical professional but she does look good to me. DS1 was always a little baby and is now a little toddler and our pedi pretty much just had us watching pees and poops which were always pretty regular.
FX that you're able to get her to straighten out her neck with some PT. Adorable pic though, those big brown eyes!

I have also heard that there is a separate growth chart for BF babies but that most pedis use the one that includes both formula and BF so it seems like BF babies aren't gaining well. As other PP mentioned as long as she is gaining along her curve don't stress.
My LO had his 2 month check up today. He is 10lbs 9oz 22.5inches. We are supplementing. My supply is pretty low. I've been pumping only 2oz every session. I'm drinking tea and made some cookies and not really seeing too much of difference. I hope the cookies work out for you. BTW my boy is eating 6oz every 3-4hrs.
So i pumped one side this morning and got 5oz. Yesterday after she nursed i got 2oz from the lazy side and 3 from the other. I dont think its a supply issue. I think shes just petite.
We went to PT today and she did well. We have a lot of homework. Tummy time 5x a day and massage after bath.
