I need opinions on where the best placement for a twin bed would be in my son's room. The picture is from standing in the doorway. To the left is a wall of closets (2 side by side). To the right is a fireplace and another (shallow original) closet). The wall behind the toddler bed has 2 windows on it and the only air vent for the room is on the floor closer to the window on the left. This is why his bed is currently pulled out off the wall. So, where would J14 put a bed? My instinct is between the two windows, but that would cover the air vent. Are there ways to work around that? Any other suggestions for bed placement? And of course, this could all be moot if we move to SC.
First, LOVE the floors and all of the light in that room! Can the bed be placed perpendicular from the wall between the two windows? Is that what you meant? Or do you want one side against the wall to decrease the chance that he'd fall out? I wouldn't worry about covering the vent.
When I had a room where the bed placement covered the vent, I taped together cardboard boxes to make a vent out from under my bed. I'm sure there are more elegant/more safe answers to the problem that are similar.
soon2bmrsn, the floors are great and original (1910ish house which is also why there's a fireplace in there). I was thinking perpendicular on the wall with 2 Windows, but it covers the vent. We already have one of those plastic things on it to direct the air into his room more instead of up behind his curtains. His room is furthest from the Hvac unit so it gets cooler than the rest of the house in the winter as it is (less airflow by the time it gets there) and I worry about covering the vent for heat.
liziz maybe I can find ideas on Pinterest for redirecting the vent if we do put the bed there.
I also think the dresser could fit in one of the closets on the left and then maybe put the bed in the corner?
Does he use the desk? I vote move the dresser (or desk if he doesn't use it yet) into the closet and out the bed where the dresser is. His room is cute!
