I want land with mineral rights. A big wrap around porch, fenced in property for my dog to run around, maybe a river running through or a really big pond, and I want to be isolated from my neighbors yet close enough to town to get what I need.
My dream is to go to the local shelters and adopt all of the senior dogs and the dogs that nobody wants and then have my very own dog sanctuary.

Same as babyweh. DH and I want to build a house and quickly realized that if we want to buy land and build, and they don't sell lots with trees here. There's land that will soon be open for housing across the street from the HS we want DS to attend, and it is covered with the most gorgeous old oak trees. They will bulldoze every one of them down before selling any lots.
So the short of it, right now my goal is simply a lot with established trees and near good schools. That's already a pipe dream. I won't try to make it harder.
In the realm of true dreams (as in never gonna happen but wouldn't it be nice) I'd love to live in a Frank Lloyd Wright house. Or a stately Brooklyn brownstone.
In terms of actual dream house that I want to make happen one day, I would want a few acres on the edge of town and we'd build a really cool, weird house (maybe a dome house) and have some animals like a goat, a micropig, a peacock, chickens, maybe a llama! And a really big vegetable garden. I'd also love to invite any family members that wanted to use the land to build their own house right by us. I especially want to talk my sister into it. Since we are probably only having one kid I think building a little family community would be a really nice way to give our daughter some of the advantages of a big family.

A women after my own heart! I am convinced that some day I will win the lottery so I can do that.
Me too. In the meantime, I'm perfectly happy in my apartment up in the burbs with my one rescue but a girl can dream. Am I right?

A nice 'A' frame house in the woods with a big wrap around porch. And a clearing for a big garden. And lots of room for my kids and animals to explore.
My dream house would just have a few more bedrooms than the 3 we have now, bigger walk-in closets, a huge gourmet kitchen with granite, and a huge backyard.
Either a older victorian or craftsman style bungalow near a big city park, walking distance to little restaurants, shops, etc... Or any style house on about 5 acres, to have a good garden, chickens, maybe a goat for milk, room to romp, camp outside, and maybe a guest house for the in-laws (my parents can stay in the main house because they actually like our children....)

Hmm...this is hard.
I used to say big house in the woods, pretty creek, yada, yada, Anne of Green Gables...but I had that and it sucked. Having a big old house sucked, to clean and keep bug free and dust free, and the yard work seriously never ended. And DH is not really a handyman.
I can't really commit to a location either, I like to move when I get bored.
So I'm going to say 4 small, modest homes or condos or smaller SFH, in different places. A condo in Hawaii, a SFH in Las Vegas, a small home close to my family, and another condo in the northeast: portland or seattle. I think that would cover us, lol.
