Happy Cinco De Mayo! Ladies.  THIRSTY THURSDAY!

I wish I could be drinking a nice margarita on the rocks...maybe a Modelo..mm. But alas that won't be happening. BUT...I am eating tacos at lunch and meeting up the hubs with Lil bit for Mexican dinner which will probably be quesadillas . GUESS WHAT NOT WORKING OUT TODAY. REBEL!

Anyone doing something for cinco de mayo or are you just doing something at home?? Also feel free to just discuss your favorite cocktail??

AND TALK ABOUT ALL OTHER RANDOMNESS...cause if we were drinking..it would just go hand in hand..

There is so much snot in my life right now. The toddler woke up at 3 a.m. insanely congested. So I had to wrestle him and rub Vick's on his chest and feet, force down some Zarbee's cough and mucus, do saline spray and a breathing treatment. There was a lot of screaming, crying, flailing and negotiating and that was just on my end. Because of course, to toddlers, medicine is equivalent to torture. By the time we finally got settled again, it was 4 a.m.

Then we had the Mother's Day breakfast at daycare and it was cute. DS and I had fun. I just wish I had taken the day off and gone home to sleep because I'm sitting at my desk and I feel dead.

Sorry, but I had to laugh reading this...... my 11 mo has her first cold and her nose is so congested.... so much snot.... I use the nose frieda, she hates it.... it's so hard to even get anything out bc she's flailing all over the place. And heaven forbid you try to wipe her nose with a kleenex! I just started giving her elderberry syrup this week (without honey) and it's so funny the faces that she makes, then does a shiver which just cracks us up. Kids & medicine are fun! LOL. I hope your LO feels better

Can I complain for a second? (this story ends happy, so I'm really just bitching) I had my first appointment with the OB yesterday and she was doing a vag ultrasound and totally seemed like she didn't know what the hell she was doing. At first she was all casual like..."I'm not sure I see any heartbeats." I immediately start freaking out. Then she's like "Oh - there they are!" I was fucking fuming.

I'm sorry - but you don't say shit like that to people. Especially after I told her that my prior loss traumatized me.

(She said that they usually have an ultrasound tech doing the big ultrasounds so she's not great with the machine. Is this normal?)

requiressnacks, I'm so sorry about your appointment. Ugh. That's not normal and she should be reprimanded for saying something so stupid. I'm glad that you had a good appointment in the end.

When I was in labor with DD, because I was only 34 weeks, when we showed up at the hospital nobody took DH seriously that I was in labor.... when we were in the triage room, the nurse had hooked up the HB monitors and says "Hmmmm, I can't seem to find her HB"............................ Why are people, especially anyone in the medical field, so fucking stupid?!?!?!

I had someone do this to me.  I went in at 40 weeks for my NST and the nurse said she couldn't find a heartbeat and had to bring in another nurse.  Longest five minutes of my life.  I thought my heart was being ripped out of my body and told the nurse that she had better find "the fucking heartbeat right NOW." 

Then it was determined that his heartbeat was low, I was induced and wound up an emergency c-section because the cord was wrapped around his body. 

Some nurses suck because they say things they really shouldn't.

requiressnacks, that is so not ok. I swear sometimes I think they don't teach some medical people about bedside manner anymore. Can you file a complaint? It sounds like not only was she insensitive she was using the machine she wasn't fully competent in.

It's a practice with 8 OBs, so I think I'm going to stick with them and hope the other OBs are better. We were the last appointment of the day and she seemed like she may have been rushing. But either way - it was not OK with me.

They really do, and speaking from experience, if you OB is already displaying horrible bedside manner, you should look into a new one.  You don't want to have to kick someone out of the room while you're in labor because you've finally had it with their shit.

requiressnacks, I cannot even imagine. I wanted to saint my ultrasound tech at my first appointment. After making a joke about the transvaginal ultrasound (I mean, that thing looks like a curling iron!), she immediately said, "I see a heartbeat!" Huge sigh of relief. Also, I had a croissant egg sandwich this morning, and I'm still thinking about how awesome it was.

As far as drinks go, give me all the red wine. I miss drinks so much. I'm going to a happy hour after work, and I'm going to try to get a sneaky virgin margarita, but we'll see if I can pull it off.
