Has anyone done Disney with an Infant?

Hello daisyblinks! I'm a noob but I thought I would put in my two cents or 1 and a half. Haha

We haven't been to Disneyworld but we've been to Disneyland with the LO and it wasn't too bad. We changed and nursed her in the child services area that I think Disneyworld should have too. It's a special area for nursing mothers where they have private and quiet places for you to nurse in peace and they even have diapers, wipes and diaper rash cream on hand for you.

And since the lines were a little long LO mostly slept while we waited and just looked around when we were on the rides. The only thing I regretted was not bringing our baby carrier while we were in line. My arms were dying!!! Hope that helps.

I would think if she's overstimulated you could just wear her to solve that problem, and I don't bf but I don't think I could do it on a ride... I've never been though so I don't have experience.

For what I understand, Disney is awesome regarding having places for moms to nurse/pump.

Have fun! We're taking a WDW trip in June when LO is 9 months old. I plan to alternate with husband wearing her though.

We went to Disneyworld for a week back in October when DS2 was just 4 weeks old. We all had a blast! I wore him in the Ergo most of the time and I was really surprised how many rides I was able to go on with him.

Before I found the baby centers (I believe each park has them but I only used the one in Magic Kingdom) I would nurse him on a bench. But the baby centers were awesome!! I'd leave my older 2 kids with DH and my in-laws and the baby and I would go to the baby center. It had a room that had about 6 or 7 rocking chairs just for nursing/pumping mom's. It was quiet and air conditioned. The centers also had a bunch of changing tables, high chairs, a little kitchen area with microwaves to warm up baby food or bottles. It was really nice! Enjoy your vacation! We are planning to go back again sometime this year and I can't wait!

The ones at Disneyland are amazing too! I lost my mind when I saw all the amenities. And I agree with the baby carrier, I really regretted not bringing mine. I thought it would be more of a hassle, but it was harder carrying the baby.

We have annual passes to Disneyland and go quite a bit. I wear the baby and have successfully breastfed on several rides including small world, the carousel, and Winnie the Pooh. I also nurse him in the carrier when we are walking from place to place. It takes some practice, but is very discreet once you get the hang of it. I second whoever said utilize the baby care centers. They are great! A quiet and relaxing place to nurse, change diapers, or just escape the crowds for a bit. ETA: nursing on rides has become more challenging now that LO is getting more aware of his surroundings and is more easily distracted.

Yes, the measles debacle is in my neck of the woods. We have Disneyland annual passes and have been avoiding it since our LO is too young to be vaccinated. Stupid anti-vaxxers ruining it for everyone. Apparently, the OC is one of the worst counties in the country for unvaccinated children. :/

I would be LIVID if I had to cancel a planned trip to Disney with my too-young-to-be-vaccinated baby because of these anti-vaxxer idiots. There are people on my Fb feed arguing that measles "isn't even that bad.". Come on!!

Isn't that bad? Fuck those people. Complications from measles can be fatal in infants. We had already booked our hotel for my daughter's birthday trip in early March. Disneyland has extended our passes for 30 days as a courtesy, but I'm not sure we could get a refund on our hotel.

One of my cousins posted an article because there is a case of the measles in the county next to us and I got in a huge argument because some psycho that use to date our cousins brother (also our cousin but easiest way to explain who haha) is an anti-vaxxer and so disrespectful in the way she shoves her opinions on everything medical in your throat and if you aren't doing things her way, your the stupidest thing on earth. I can't stand her. I wasn't nice and had people texting me all day about how amazing my responses were.

Anyway, it's really close to us now. A man 40 minutes from here, in one of the bigger shopping areas has a confirmed case from Disney.

Seeing as how this was about something entirely different, HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!! Safe travels and you will have an amazing time!

I also immediately thought of the measles outbreak (but realize that was at Disneyland). Baby girl got her first virus this week, so now I'm paranoid and feel like a bad mom for not being more vigilant about letting people hold her without washing their hands first. We're steering clear of big crowds for the time being. Plus, my hubby has made it very clear Disney is pretty much his worst nightmare. I have no desire to go either, but lo's godmother is a Disney fanatic, so maybe that can be their thing, when she's like 5. Maybe hubs and I will change our tune by then, anyway.

Personally, I think the best age to take a kiddo for the first time was 3. We went in March of last year and had all 4(at the time) kids with us. They were 16, 12, 11, 3. The older kids had fun and loved it but the 3yo was by far the most excited to meet characters, she loved the rides and we had minimal meltdowns. I will never forget her expression as we watched the parade on Main St and she saw all of the princesses. I literally cried at her excitement and watching her jump up and down. I have the best series of pictures of her as she runs up to Minnie Mouse and almost knocks Minnie over she was so excited.

Whatever age, just enjoy it and take a lot of pictures!

i just have to say, please don't feel this way. mommy guilt is so pervasive. i really think it is important for moms to actively try to avoid dumping on themselves and making it worse. just like the concept of trying to avoid "fat talk" ... don't get yourself down, and don't put yourself down. do your best, that's all you can do.

Of course the Disneyland Measles business went down just after we booked our trip there for the end of April. I am sure by then it should be all set, but if not I will be pissed. DH's parents live a hour away so we are going to visit them and then head to Disneyland for 4 days.

For those that have done Disneyland with Little ones (my DS will be just under 3 and DD will be 7 months) any tips would be appreciated. I have never been and the last time DH went was for his Grad night thing like 15 years ago.

Label your stroller with your name and phone number in a visible place.

I actually had someone take our stroller from pirates and I found them closer to main st. I was furious. It was just a Minnie Mouse umbrella stroller but my daughter was distraught that the stroller they exchanged our for was technically the same item but in shitty shape and mine was brand new. I walked up to every similar stroller and looked for my name and when I found it, I made them take their 30 bags off and walk all the way back to get theirs. I was so mad and I wasn't very nice. Their stroller was no where near ours and mine was folded up, theirs wasn't. Be careful with strollers and don't take a nice one!

I took DD1 to Disneyland when she was about 7.5 months. Definitely bring some sort of carrier for when you're standing in line. She napped in it when we were standing in line once, and other times she napped in her stroller. Be sure to plan to not be on rides/in line during meal times, and take lots of breaks. I was planning on going for DD1's 2nd bday this month, but now with the measles crap going on, we've decided against it.
