S is a teething mess. I took her to urgent care yesterday because I was convinced she had an ear infection, but nope....5 teeth coming in at the same time. Poor baby girl.
DH is taking DS to the doctor today because his cousin ran him over with one of those motorized cars and he's complaining of his nose and head hurting, and they may want to do x-rays. So nervous.
Also I the intense teething camp here. Lots of pulling on ears and crying.
Hope he is ok. When LO fell off the bed the ER docs said as long as there is no loss of consciousness, throwing up that it usually is fine but the pain from impact can last a while. Let us know how the appt goes
Totally fine with it, except now that she can stand she just stands in her crib and screams at the top of her lungs. We let he go for an hour once before realizing she wasn't going to stop. And she won't stop crying unless we pick her up. Also my upstairs neighbors have threatened to call CYS on us if we cio. He's an asshole.
I'm sorry, that's so tough. How long has it been since you tried it? We had M cry one time for 2 hours and realized he wasn't ready, and when we tried a month or two after that, it worked under ~30 min the first night. Did you try Ferber? Tell your neighbors to go fuck themselves.
I'm sorry she's crying and not sleeping. I hope whatever you decide to try, works.

blueskiessmiling yes but I'm sure it's because she is exhausted. She has intense bags under her eyes, like it almost looks like she has 2 black eyes.
holliberry28 we talked, we are going to try again tonight. It's been about 2-3 weeks. Ferber hasn't worked for us because she won't settle from us rubbing her back or anything, we have to pick her up and rock her or I have to nurse her.
I just scheduled an appt with a new pediatrician that is in charge of a sleep class. I'm hoping he can give us some more tips than just cio.
pghtruelove if you are moving I might wait to do any in depth sleep training. The new environment is a lot for a baby to process especially at age 1 because they are more aware at that age then training a 6 month old and you might just have to retrain again.

With Ferber, you're not supposed to pick up, touch, or pat. Just go in for 5-15 seconds with whatever "it's time to sleep, we love you" phrase you decide on. Is that what you've been doing in intervals of 5-10-15 min?
There's also the extinction CIO that's Weissbluth approach where you don't go in at all. That was too tough but would be better for babies that get more riled up from the intermittent checks.

I've also thought that about this being a reason she's always had such crap sleep. We travel a lot like 2-3 weekends/weeks a month. So we spend a lot of time in hotels or at our other house. She has been doing this since she was born so I don't know if it is something she would be used to or if that's what is really messing up her sleep.

As she gets older I think it has more potential to affect her sleep. Babies tend to be adaptable but once they gain awareness there might be extra curiosity with a new environment (shadows on the ceiling in different places, window with a new view etc). It doesn't mean you can't sleep train it just means be prepared to have to do it again if in a new environment.
Monday started out good, the kids were in a great mood and I got them out the door and to my in-laws in a timely manner. Work has been so busy so the day has flown by. Bad news is MIL texted me a few minutes ago that DS1 bit LO on the finger and was in time-out. Ugh, we are still struggling pretty hardcore with DS1 hurting him. I really hoped after a year it would get better, but it's not. At least they have some cute interactions now that help make up for it?
pghtruelove, no true advice, but I'm so sorry. I can't keep everyone's milestones straight around here, is your LO crawling and moving around a lot? LO seemed to sleep a lot better once he was getting more "exercise" and outside time. Hope it improves soon.
Any of you Southern California moms going to the Freshly Picked Warehouse sale this Saturday? Cauuuse... I will totally reimburse and send goodies if you can snag some moccs for G!

pghtruelove That sounds heartbreaking, I'm so sorry. I'm certainly no expert, but my advice follows the line of others. If there's any way she will fall asleep (being rocked, car, whatever), I would do a few days of that until you feel she's not so exhausted. Once you feel she isn't beyond tired, then I would tackle sleep training.

Finally on the couch getting A to sleep. I've got him snuggled with his new jellycat puppy to hopefully start a sleep association. pghtruelove I feel your pain. A won't let me lay him down at all the past week since these molars have started coming in. And even if I do hold him he wakes up every hour or so screaming. I'm running on fumes here.
Glad the tubes went well today @akwild, I hope you see a big improvement.
alayne926 that is very scary. I hope it ends up being nothing serious.
Thanks everyone! His head and nose are not hurt from falling. We were being extra cautious, but would rather be safe than sorry. It was good that we took him in because the doctor did find some polyps in his nasal cavity. We have to go back to the ENT to get that checked out. The good thing is that these polyps are usually benign and nothing to worry about.
We have reservations for dinner the night we get there!
I want to be a creeper and stalk your Disney trip, haha. Where else are you eating?
Mama Melrose, Liberty Tree Tavern, Chef Mickey's, and Whispering Canyon. We're going during the free dining deal, so I'm looking forward to eating some delish food.

Cranberry I just had to sign paperwork so they can get J's medical records. We have to go out to Squirrel Hill for our spot though. Are you going to the walk on Saturday for the lactation center? I accidentally committed to volunteering there and at the Tula Love play date at north park. Oops they only over lap a short time though.

Nope, I was going to do the walk with my mentoring organization, but we have too many things on Saturday!
