Fired another advertiser. Possible site disruptions

We parted ways with another advertiser yesterday due to some issues unrelated to the redirects.

We are going to be test-piloting some new ad partnerships over the next few days, so apologies in advance if the sidebar disappears, or weird shit happens intermittently.

The good news: at least one of the networks we are looking at doesn't care how much we swear!

And for the IF and Loss ladies- this unfortunately means there may be some insensitive ads that run while we get things set up until we can send them a blacklist of advertisers that we don't want run on our page. At a minimum we supply them with a few verticals that are absolutely unacceptable to us (including crisis pregnancy centers, adoption agencies, and surrogacy clinics) but if you see anything that doesn't fit with our community (anti-abortion, anti-LGBT, etc) please post the URL of the ad in this thread.

And as always, if there are video ads with sound (there should not be) report them in this thread as well.

Without starting an abortion debate on here, "crisis pregnancy centers" or "pregnancy resource centers" are inherently anti abortion and rely on deception and false information to convince women to not get abortions and sometimes not even use birth control. Can we make sure those sorts of centers don't have a platform to advertise here?

Yes. Apparently I missed a few critical words in my OP. Our blacklist includes any CPC, focus on the family, and several of the national adoption agencies. Also several surrogacy clinics

@led, for that ad you can use the ad report tool and they've updated it so that the report goes straight to them once you click report. You don't have to send it to us or so anything else now.

The ad showed up again so I went to the ad report tool and there was only one listed, from yesterday. Nothing new.

There was a banner ad for a crisis pregnancy center at the top of the parenting board on mobile. When clicked on, it goes to www.realalternatives.org/MiracleofLife/

I'm not writing about a blacklisted ad, but I am curious about how they work and how far deep in our history they look for relevance.

I just got done emailing X company, come back here (because thats what I do during work) and an ad for X company is in the top left box.

I came here to write about how strange it is, and Y company that I emailed yesterday shows up.

I have visited both sites in the past, but it is more interesting to me that the ads did not show up until I emailed those companies, and they are fairly small companies so it is definitely not random.

I know it's not you guys at all and it's mostly entirely unavoidable but online advertising in general makes me feel creeped on.

I did click the opt-out on that site (not that it helps when i also check from my phone, and iPad and occasionally other random devices), so thank you for the link.
