Ttma: stocking up for maternity at Target

crimpgirl , I do not mean to laugh at you. I have a gf in Toronto who is also a Target fanatic. They lost their target and she comes to buffalo just for target and stocks up. I am sorry that this seems to be one of the things Canadians have had to deal with. I do love Target too. OH, I don't know if you can get Old Navy via online. But they have pretty good tops and dresses for maternity at amazingly good prices. Come cold weather they have weather dresses and longsleeve black/nude dresses you add a belt fantastic for work at half the price of maternity clothes other places.

Belly bands!!! Some people hate them, but I was able to wear my normal pants until the day I delivered using belly bands (thanks, hyperemesis gravidarum!).

Gillian O'Mally nursing tanks. I lived in them those early weeks pp when my boobs were going bananas.

When I was pregnant with DS, also a December baby, I lived in maxi skirts and T-shirts all summer. I would dress them up with nice flat and a necklace for work. I actually ended up wearing a lot of my skirts into the fall with a long sleeve T, or a tank with a cardigan. Fold over skirts are amazing. I bought mine at Old Navy, but I'm sure target has some too.

Maternity dresses, especially since it will be hot this summer and I can't do pants in the heat. It just won't happen. Last time around, I got a black Liz Lange t-shirt dress. Regardless of where you get the clothes, I recommend the following:
* nursing tanks
* Nursing sports bra - super helpful when in labor
* yoga pants - lots of dark colored yoga pants
* belly bands
* Some basic maternity shirts, like white shirts, navy blue, black - I wore a lot of these under cardigans before and after birth
* cardigans
* A cozy robe
* Non-slip socks/slippers - for the hospital

YES to the robe!!! I bought a black robe, because pp bleeding. But you definitely want a robe to cover your mesh undies clad bum!!!

Awesome! Thank you, I am for sure picking up some nursing tanks then! Did you get your normal size or move up one?

I got mine at the end of my pregnancy. I was at the top end of one size, so I rounded up to the next size and it worked out great. I'd say go up a size from where you are now. The biggest thing to keep in mind for BFing is you don't want anything that's really tight in the beginning. I had some tighter nursing tanks and they gave my plugged ducts. Those nursing tanks were perfect, though: tight enough that I didn't leak all over, but not so much that I got plugged.

I like their store brand breastmilk storage bags if you are planning to BF.
