Maternity wear...ALL the things!

starting so it can be all in one place?

So, I am all over the belly band from Amazon, and Macy's and H&M maternity, per advice, what else do you all recommend? 

And what the heck do you do about bras? Ovia or glow said I'll be growing 3lbs a breast, which will put me into the udder category of boob size, I need a sturdy underwire, will I be buying several throughout the pregnancy? Brand/store ideas? links? Please?  Thank you!  Have I mentioned how thankful I am to all of you experienced moms? THANK YOU!

My boobs didn't get even a partial size bigger until after DS was born so no advice there. I like most of Target's maternity line but it isn't very varied.

My boobs hasn't changed much while I was pregnant. I bought some basics at target & old navy. I bought most of my work related clothes from pea & the pod I think its called. I also got some pants from thred up as well, most was like new. Although I never got to wear most of the maternity clothes I bought.

I experienced absurd boob growth. I had a few bras from target and I think a few from some maternity store (I know, super informative). Overall, I just remember being uncomfortable no matter what bra I had. Sorry, I am not being very helpful...

I went up a little in bra size (34dd to 36dd) with my daughter. I had to buy underwear before bras because it all went to my hips.

As far as maternity clothes, I got some at Old Navy but most of it from Destination Maternity. They have fake bumps you can try on to guess your size for future months as well. For her, I wasn't in maternity clothes until 20 ish weeks. She was a February baby so the first few months were summer (same time line as us). I wore loose sundresses and tops that werent maternity. I used the belly band or a rubber band to expand my shorts.

I work from home so I'm hoping that I can get away with yoga pants and oversized tshirts for most of the pregnancy.

For the handful of times this summer I'll need to leave the house (church, grocery shopping etc.) I'm hoping that the hair band trick will work on my jeans and shorts.

I also had a breast reduction about 8-9 years ago (I forget exactly when) so I hope my boobs don't get gigantic again, that is not comfortable at all.

A friend got a breast reduction and they started trying for a second as soon as she was healed up. They got pregnant right away and she has to get another one done now that her son is here.

A friend got a breast reduction and they started trying for a second as soon as she was healed up. They got pregnant right away and she has to get another one done now that her son is here.

I got mine done in my mid-late 20s (and don't regret it for a second) when I wasn't dating eons before I met DH.  At the time I was worried about being able to breastfeed but since kids weren't in my immediate future I went ahead and did it.  It was a super easy recovery for me so while I wouldn't look forward to another surgery I wouldn't hesitate to do it again after I'm done having kids if I need to do it again.  


I'm kinda surprised your friend didn't wait until she was done having kids as the surgery can affect breastfeeding if that is/was important to her.

+1 to buying stuff as you get bigger/need it. It's absurd the size bra that fit me late in pregnancy - I went up at least 3 cup sizes. I never would have sized it right ahead of time. You'll try things on and different things will look good/ridiculous depending on size and shape of your bump.

I always thought no underwire bras were totally lame. Then my boobs got pregnant huge and underwire started to really suck. I bought a couple old lady wireless bras from target and wore them constantly bc they were the only thing that was comfortable. (It's a slippery slope though... A year and a half later and I'm still in wireless nursing bras...) I have 1 real bra that fits bc they actually got smaller once I was done breastfeeding, so none of my pre pregnancy bras fit anymore.

This exactly! I went wireless and it was amazing (comfort-wise). I'm sure I would have been perkier with an underwire, but I couldn't handle it digging into my belly.

Wireless was the way to go for me as well.

I managed to get to 24 weeks first time before going for maternity pants with the help of the hair and trick and a couple of belly bands. Saying that, I dint realize what I was missing out on in terms of comfort! I expect to stretch and show earlier this time around so I'll make the change when normal clothes get uncomfortable.

I got most of my work stuff at destination maternity, and casual stuff at target more cheaply.

As for bras, I already need some serious structural engineering at a 34H. I just got fitted for 2 new bras in the hope that like last time I only need to add bra extenders in back as I grow. I expanded in my ribs but didn't actually increase cup size until PP when I was breast feeding and then I went up 3 sizes!

It's hard to predict what will happen and what you'll be comfortable in so I agree with others to buy as and when you need things.

Yeah, I thought they were 1 and done but apparently not. She was able to supplement with breastfeeding but couldn't do it in full or for very long and she was definitely upset by it. I was surprised she'd made the decision knowing they wanted one more.
