So many places I want to go!! I think if money weren't an object, we'd go to France to visit Giverny to see Monet's garden and then the lavender fields and vineyards in the Loire Valley.
For something we can actually do, we both love Banff and really want to go back. It's so amazingly gorgeous! We both went with exs in the past so it'd be nice to go together someday.
The best vacation we've ever had was hands down our honeymoon. We spent 6 days in Jamaica at the Sandals Whitehouse resort. We talk about it regularly and we both want to do a vacation like it again maybe for our 5th anniversary. We'll have to save like crazy, but it'd be worth it!

starbuck27 one of my best friends has been living in Madrid the last two years. She loves it and the pictures she shares are beautiful. I've never had a strong interest in visiting Spain, but now I want to go eventually. Eta: I visited Seattle once for a couple of days. It was a great city. The Olympic National Park is also ridiculously amazing. Whenever I do a guided meditation where you visualize a place that makes you feel peaceful, that is where I envision myself.

If money were no object then I would literally travel the entire world. I would want to go everywhere and do all the things.
Since money is an object my dream international vacation would be Spain. Domestically it would be New Orleans. I've been wanting to go forever and had actually planned on going for my 30th birthday, except now I'll be about 2 months PP, so that's off the table. I'd still love to go someday.
My favorite vacation was definitely our honeymoon to Ireland. We were there for 10 days and spent time in Cork, Kilkenny and Dublin. I'd love to go back though, there's still so much of that country that I want to see.
Well photobucket is being an ad-redirect idiot so I can't add anymore of my own photos right now (for our best trip), but later for sure..
If money were not a consideration and I weren't so terrified of flying, then my top picks would be:
Amalfi Coast
While still expensive, I think the Post Ranch Inn in Bug Sur, CA is a little more feasible:
However there's a few less expensive places I've never been that I need to squeeze in sometime: Vegas, Disney, and Portland/Seattle.
As far as favorite trip, this would have to be our honeymoon - Harbour Island (part of the Out Islands) in the Bahamas. It was everything I pictured in my head that the perfect Caribbean island/honeymoon should be, quiet and laid back, no big chains etc. most people got around by golf carts. It's about 3 miles big/long (?) but still had amazing dining which is a must for me:
Morning view
Taking our cart for a drive around the island:
To get to the island you fly into Eleuthera (another tiny island) and take a boat over. We spent two nights in Eleuthera also:
Glass window bridge where Carribean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean (it was exactly this breathtaking):
However this scares the crap out of me, it was not like this

These pictures are making me drool!
I would love to just travel everywhere. Except for our wedding/honeymoon we don't take more than a long weekend off so I often dream of just running away for weeks at a time.
My favorite by far was getting married and honeymooning in St Lucia. Absolutely perfect in every way. I still look at the pictures weekly because of how happy and how much fun we had in those few days.
Thank you!!! I ordered it off etsy and just hoped and prayed that it would come in looking nice. It fit like a glove! We got married in August on the beach in 90+ degree weather so I wanted something to match that. Sometimes I feel like I missed out on the whole dress experience, but then I look at my pictures and realize how much I love my decision.
Can I AW it some more?
I totally am going to. I've never felt so pretty and since I'm currently losing my hair, covered in pimples, and bloated from head to toe I need to remind myself what I need to get back to!!!

High on the list is Banff, but we will prob wait until kids are older. I also really want to do Sweden and Norway since my grandmother was Scandinavian. I think we are limited to beach rentals and visiting family for vacations until we have one kid out of daycare though.
I've been lucky and have had some great travel experiences. We honeymooned in Croatia and I just loved Hvar and Dubrovnik...we went there the year before Beyonce made it the hip place for US tourists.
We went to Cappadocia in Turkey the fall before I got pregnant in '12, and that was one of the coolest places ever, it felt like another planet.
In the US, I love Yosemite. I definitely want to get to some other National Parks out west though. I feel like I'd love glamping in Montana or Idaho. I also loved our trip to Oregon this past fall, Cannon Beach was just amazing and loved the hiking.

sophiegrace That is a gorgeous dress and beautiful pictures. I picked the first dress I tried on so I kind of feel like I should have looked more, but like you I loved my dress and felt so beautiful in it.
tallblonde, we've gotten to visit a few cool national parks and do some great hikes. One of the best was a loop of three places- Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks. That's always my top recommendation for going out west for an outdoorsy vacation.
Mammoth National Park was also reallllly gorgeous.
Our most recent trip was in October to Ireland and that was incredible...not only were the people and scenery amazing, but we went with my sister and BIL and they were so much fun to travel with. That would probably be a tie with Italy (where I studied abroad) for favorite vacation so far.
I have been to the middle east and it was a neat experience but I don't really have a strong desire to go back.
Dream vacation: Gosh, probably just traveling around Europe first-class...I'd love to do England & Scotland, Spain, Austria, Prague, Belgium, and go back to France and Italy.
Next realistic/domestic vacation: either California wine country (I have been but DH has not) or some of the National Parks out west. Or maybe an Alaskan cruise, although I don't know that that is quite "domestic". I would also love to go to Hawaii but it's fairly likely with DH's job so I think we will wait to see if the Navy sends us for free at some point
Our honeymoon was to Antigua and we loved it, really beautiful and peaceful. We wanted to relax and it was perfect.
Money is no object: a month (maybe 2) long trip of Europe. I have so much I want to see there.
Money keeping it real: Iceland to see the northern lights. Lots of great deals out of DC and totally doable.
Realistically our next trip is probably Russia because that is H's ultimate dream vacation. I am a little reserved on the idea but it would be fascinating to see for sure.
In the US umm not sure? Maybe Maine in the fall that part of NE is pretty much the only part of the county I haven't seen- and Utah I want to go there too. Banff is on our list too.
Best trip ever? Australia/ New Zealand. It was amazing. The trip was a whirlwind tour of 16 days and was about a month too short. So much awesomeness. It had been my dream vacation since I was a very young girl and it lived up to my dreams. H even pondered finding a job there after we came back ha.

aggiebug My dad's girlfriend is Australian and they've gone a few times. The timing has never worked for me to go, but I hope someday we can all go together. It sounds and looks amazing.

It is and there is so much I missed and want to see. Brisbane, ayers rock, Tasmania... New Zealand definitely took my breath away more it's just stunning.
aggiebug let me know if you end up planning a trip to Maine, we have been spending summers up there since I was a kid and my parents have a lake place there. I have lots of recommendations I can pass along. It's a beautiful area, esp. in summer and fall.

hangry have we discussed this? #pregnancybrain Remind me where you're from? There's a mom on my other BMB who was born in Rockland so she and I have talked Maine a bit. My parents' place is in Camden. I'm taking DS up next month for a bit and we can't wait!!
Ok, so my best vacation was probably to France for out honeymoon. We loved Paris and would go back again for sure. We also visited Nice but the weather wasn't awesome so we just didn't have as good of a time as Paris.
My big dream trip would be to Europe. Probably to tour Italy and maybe even Spain (again. My H studied abroad there and I went with friends, but I would love to go with him, especially since he speaks Spanish.)
Some little dream trips include: Banff (I'll join the group there!!!!), San Francisco and California wine country, DC (never been as a tourist and feel like it's my patriotic duty to explore it).

I don't think we've talked about it... I am from the Portland area, so definitely different from the Camden/rock port area. But Portland is such a cool city and so often gets ranked as a top city to visit for a weekend getaway.
We love Portland! We have some Navy friends who live in the suburbs and we enjoy visiting them. The restaurant scene has really exploded lately...We typically fly out of PWM so we like to try a new place as we're coming or going.

Yes, a great restaurant scene. I don't explore it enough. I need to make more of an effort to escape with H to try more places.
I went to Ireland with my parents and want to go back with mh. We'd also really like to go to Italy because of the food, well there are a lot of places we want to go because of the food.
As a family, I'd like to go back to Smoky Mountain National Park. MH and I honeymooned there and it was so beautiful. Very relaxing to just camp and do nothing. I'd also like to go to the West Coast with my family.
Dream vacation right now is New Orleans to visit my brother. I feel like I haven't seen him in a long time and want to eat all the food.
