Lo is running around trying to steal my strawberries after throwing a fit at breakfast because I gave him his own strawberries. Seems about right for a toddler.
Hoping all you ladies have hot coffee and happy toddlers this morning!

I'm enjoying at least warm Starbucks at my desk, wishing it was Friday. Is anyone else's LOs dropping a nap? My guy has been on a good schedule foreverrrrrr and he still turns into a bear if he's even late for his morning nap, but lately he's been skipping his afternoon nap. Like every other day, not going to sleep in the afternoon. I thought the morning nap is the one that got dropped first?

ashlantic We're in full toddler mode with the fits too. He was FREAKING OUT because I wouldn't let him push his highchair into the living room yesterday. Then I started singing the Sesame Street theme song and he immediately got super happy and excited and pointed at the tv. Big Bird is one of my best friends these days.

Em did this a while back. The afternoon one went first and the morning one started getting pushed back. She now naps from 1130-1:30 ish
Leo has gotten a couple of goody bags from DC bday's. Included are treats, a light up yoyo, light up bouncy ball, the play doh, mini slinky, and I forgot the rest. In 2 bags! That's a lot of good stuff. I hadn't even thought of doing something like that for the class for his bday. The pressure is on.
I feel like telling my coworkers I'm pregnant. I have wkly dr appts, and each time I have to place a mtg invite on the team calendar letting them know I have an appt and may be in late. Plus I've left early a couple times because I wasn't feeling well. They must be like what's wrong with her. I want to share but the same time still feel hesitant. Ugh. I hate that I still can't just be happy and shout it to the world.
laceysbryan that's been lo's nap schedule for a really long time. He's usually down by 10/10:30 for morning nap and afternoon nap is hit or miss. Once in a rare while I can push his nap until after lunch. And thank God for Sesame Street. Lo is obsessed. He'll hand us the remote and ask for "Momo."
The tech is here. I explained what has been going on with our cable and internet. He immediately called his boss. This can't be good. This has been an ongoing issue for weeks now and no one can seem to get it resolved. IL's left for the weekend again. I'm taking care of their dog. Thank goodness for barking collars. He's an instigator; he'll just go in the yard and start barking trying to rile up the other neighborhood dogs. The nice neighbor next door has mentioned how annoying it is, so I figure the others I don't talk to HATE us. DH takes off tomorrow morning to join his parents but he's flying up and back. His cousin is getting married at 5 pm Friday so it's taking some effort for the out of towners to get there. LO and I are staying behind because I wouldn't get to enjoy anything. I can't drink, I would take LO back to the hotel for bedtime while everyone else got to enjoy the reception. No thank you, I'll take the easy route please lol. Well.. it seems everything is fixed. It's been over an hour and I haven't been able to post. Hopefully, this is the fix. He had to call an actual tech (with the bucket truck) to come out. We're going shopping with my mom, whenever she decides to show up.
Oh naps - I noticed a more gradual melding of the naps. She would take a morning and afternoon nap for 1-1.5 hours each. She slowly moved them together to form one long nap, usually down around noon, up around 2:30 or 3. I would say she dropped the afternoon nap.

laceysbryan we haven't had 2 naps a day since maybe 13 months? He usually has one nap around 11 or 12 and then that's it. I remember our Dr at the 12 month check saying they'll gradually just drop to one.

Thanks for the napping info ladies! I know the transition to one nap typically happens between 12 and 24 months, but I thought the earlier one went first. I'll just have to try to push his morning nap little by little and see if I can get it to turn into an afternoon nap.

We had a team lunch meeting. First we got fed delicious food. Then we got our butts handed to us. Did I say that right? The big boss basically scolded the lot of us. From not working enough hrs to being on the internet, etc etc etc. Thru a ppt slide! It was embarrassing & uncomfortable. Jeez. Isn't that what a mgr should discuss with you privately.

Hugs. I am all too familiar with this struggle. I say if you want to tell, then tell. My only barometer for myself with telling people is, would I be okay with untelling them if the worst should happen. I apologize if that is morbid or triggering; just my two cents.

PSA: I heard that Victoria Secret is doing away with their swimsuits and right now they have a 40% off code for every swim item, even those on sale, except the pink line. Some of it is skanky but sometimes I'm a little skanky
Hello from the emergency visit to our pediatrician. Concrete floor 1, Leo 0. Thank god he doesn't need stitches even though that bottom part of it was pretty darn close. My poor baby.
sgio7485 ouch! Still handsome as ever! Love his hair. It looks blonder than before or is it just me.
Yes he is getting blonder and blonder! So strange. DH and I are both dark(ish) Italian- brown hair/eyes/olive skin for me dark hair/blue eyes/paler than me but still not as light as Leo. Leo is blonde/gray hazel eyes/paler than powder!
laceysbryan F dropped to one nap shortly after starting daycare to keep her on the same schedule as the other kids. Now she naps 1230-230 and it's working out great for us. I love not having to schedule our day around two naps on weekends. littlelion Sorry you don't feel comfortable sharing the happy news yet, hopefully soon! And as if your boss made a ppt to address those issues... Seems a bit over the top. sgio7485 Ouch poor Leo! I was going to comment on his blond hair too. I know it's common to go from blond to brown but I've never seen the opposite!
Hey US mamas I'm on your side of the border now! We're relaxing in a hotel in Syracuse and fly to Myrtle Beach early tomorrow morning for a vacation. I'm so excited to get a break from work, DH badly needs one too. I was nervous about traveling with LO but she was great for the drive and passed out right away. Fx for the flights!
megpie5 it's so weird. No one in our fam is blond. DH was blond(ish) as a toddler also. Leo had a black Mohawk at birth.
Baby hair is just strange! Some days I swear lo's hair is getting more blond and then the next day it looks reddish again. We think dh's blond hair turned red as he got older, but we don't know for sure since he's bald. Lol Glad poor Leo was ok! That must have been scary!
megpie5 good luck! Lo has done well on all his flights, even the time he completely skipped nap. I'm sure F will be fine. Enjoy your vacation!
