RE Visit today - The Plan (previous losses/child mentioned)

So, I had my 3rd visit with RE today to go over our collaborative tests to decide THE PLAN. 
Bloodwork - normal, consistent with PCOS.  (I'm now on Metformin ER 1000mg)
HSG - tubes clear, possible tiny polyp - no biggie
DH SA - 4 x the normal amount, motility and morphology - normal.

Check. Check. Check.

He asked me how aggressive I wanted to be... I said VERY.  He started talking about IUI and what needs to happen, etc.  Ultrasound on CD3-5, Clomid, Trigger Injection, HCG, Progesterone...it was a lot to take in.  thank God he wrote it all down!

I'm going to have the talk with DH and see where he stands.  He's very firm on not wanting this to be about a science experiment.  I want a baby - I don't care how.

Good luck with the talk with YH. I know a lot of people start out not wanting the "science" baby but become more accepting of it as the journey continues. I hope y'all are able to get to a good solution that works for both of you!

Good luck with the talk. I totally agree that sometimes men can get in their own heads. H is the same way about not wanting everything to be so invasive. We had a long talk this morning. Sending lots of ((hugs)) for your talk with H.

We're in the same boat. I just want to get pregnant and DBF wants it to be as natural as possible. At this point I have him on board for two iuis before IVF. Hoping we won't get to that point!

lucylulu - so funny how we barter with them to get what we want.
We didn't get much time to discuss as we were entertaining in laws all weekend but we have been each researching Clomid and IUI's. He's deathly afraid of twins, but not so much the IUI procedure itself.

DH's concern about the IUI's is my reaction if it doesn't work. He knows how upset I get every month we're not pregnant - he can only imagine how much more I will get my hopes up.

I don't care what it takes - like most of you - I will do it and I will endure. I am willing to see what a couple more months will bring us but I am so ready for the next step.

It was funny - the substitute pastors sermon today was about he and his wifes struggles with starting their family. They went through IVF with losses and finally a success. The sermon was about Focus. It is nice to know 'someone else' is listening

It is always good to have a plan. I hope that you and your husband can come to an understanding.

I have a question, what do you mean when you say that your husband has 4x the normal amount in his SA? Is this volume or sperm count? (My husband's count was slightly above the normal range, so the 4x thing has me curious -- since it's a range and not a hard and fast number, KWIM?)

ETA: The count range is large. 20-150 million/mL. That's a really large range.

peanutmuse, the RE said his sperm count was 4x the minimum range. The amount wasn't alot, but normal. He said the quantity when giving SA is usually lower because of masturbation. He said during intercourse, they range between 2 and 4ml's whereas, if they get over 1 -2 ml for an SA - they're doing great. I think he was 1.3ml's for the sample given. So much we learn about semen! HA!

Hm, that's interesting. 4x the minimum in the range would still be in the normal range, lol. The wording is just a bit weird. But sounds like everything is ok, so that's good!
