Chase a toddler and hold a baby. Sometimes clean when the baby lets me put her down or work on school when the toddler naps.
My hobbies are in the waiting period now (gardening needs to get growing, sewing needs to wait until budget resets) and so I'm on here more than usual.

Now I'm at work, but when I was home I found a bunch of free or inexpensive events and activities to get me and the kids out of the house on most days. Other than that, I tried my best to keep the house in some kind of order, make dinner and keep my sanity.

So, this could just be b/c I'm a FTM, but I'm so nervous about germs! We go for walks and to the Starbucks Drive Thru (aha), but I'm kinda worried about taking him where there are a bunch of people. Crazy?

My big one keeps me pretty busy this time around. When I was on leave with him though, we did lots of mom and me activities. If you're in a city, there are probably a lot of options for you! We did mom and me fitness classes, baby time at the library.. and more options more for him as he got a bit older (swimming lessons, drop in gymnastics, etc)

I can understand that. But when we went out, I mostly wore LO so my hands could be free to keep up with my 3 y.o. so it wasn't like a crowd of people was breathing on him or handling him or anything. Unfortunately, they're going to pick up germs and get sick at some point. Just a part of parenting. My 12-week old already has the sniffles. The weather here has been crazy. Cool one day. Warm the next. And both are in daycare so something is bound to come home.

I try to do an errand or go to a meet up or see a mom friend every day. Also take walks.
I am super worried about next week, H is leaving for a 10 trip.
Wow 10 days, I'm sure you'll be great, but I'd be nervous too! I bet he's excited to get a full nights sleep.
Despite LO being in our room, he generally gets a full night sleep. Lol. But he should have fun and think he is excited for some drinking and guys time, it's a graduation trip to the British Virgin Islands.
Re germs: my thing is if we are out and ppl aren't touching her or like breathing right on her I figure it's ok... In the house I ask ppl to wash their hands.

Chase my son while trying to keep the apt clean. I think I reclean each room multiple times a day after Hurricane Isaac makes his way through each room. I also work from home remotely part time until I return to work full time on the 30th. On the weekends, we go out as a family to the park or to different local events. Yesterday was my birthday so we spent the day at the farm and had a picnic. Isaac got to pet baby chicks. Evie slept the entire time. Except when I had to nurse her.

Although I'm all about exposure to germs to boost immune response, I am there with you when they're this little. I just told MH today that I was waiting for her to get her first round of shots before dropping her off at childcare at the athletic club.
Once they get old enough to handle things better, it's not so worrisome
I figure out at the beginning of the week what errands I have and I break them up so we do one or two a day. So one day is groceries. One is target. One is BJs. We also walk to meet my H at the train when the weather isn't awful. I've also tried to meet up with friends when I can.
I also allow myself a little tv time a day. I'll put J on her play mat for 20 minutes and watch a show on Netflix or whatever.
I'm juggling a baby and toddler so the day goes pretty fast, but I remember being sooooo bored when DD was a newborn. I watched a lot of tv to entertain myself. DD wanted to be held all day and during naps so I couldn't get much done. Once she was around two months I started going to meet-ups and when she could crawl we started Gymboree. I would try to have something planned everyday. I wouldn't worry too much about the baby getting sick. They are too young to put stuff in their mouths yet.

xxkimmy8xx, Bud got sick and ended up in the hospital despite the fact he was completely isolated besides us, MIL, my parents (all of us were fully vaccinated). He must have gotten sick when we were at the pedi's getting his first shots. Even if you are 100% careful things still happen. You care, you have good common sense and you'll be responsible. Go out and enjoy yourself!
